Publisher's summary

A village full of gorgeous elves desperate to be loved? There had to be a catch.

Sebastian Frost’s most recent memory was waking up in a field naked, in a body that wasn’t his own, in a world that definitely wasn’t his own, and three stunning pointy-eared women staring right at him. He also remembered hair as white as starlight, eyes like amethysts, and the name Shalia.

Fortunately, it was the right name to know.

Shalia was the elves’ goddess, and that made him her herald. If that wasn’t enough of a blessing, he was in a game world, he was high level, he had hundreds of ability points to spend, and the elves were practically throwing themselves at him.

Of course, there was a catch.

Shalia, her followers, and now, Frost himself were viewed by the world as bringers of misfortune and everybody hated them. Although, to be fair, Frost was going to rain misfortune on anybody who attempted to harm his lovable new followers.

Herald of Shalia is a fun fantasy litRPG by Tamryn Tamer and contains attention-starved elves, beast-girl courtesans, foul language, twosomes, threesomes, and foursomes, and completely over-the-top love-making. You've been warned.

Wow... just wow!

Been a fan of the Herald of Shalia books for a while now. And I must say both Amber and Kieran did an incredible job of narrating it to life. Absolutely fantastic!

The book's main character, Sebastian Frost, starts out being dropped on a world by a goddess to be her selected Herald. This world has the litrpg mechanics where you have to level up to thrive. Frost essentially has to come to terms with his new reality while choosing between his own self interest or the presumptive constituency that are Shalia's followers, whom desperately needs a leader and guidance. The task is daunting as no other Herald or country wants an upstart following near or within their borders.

The system is well done. But I think the strongest aspect of this book is the incredible detail and realism the author manages to bring with the characters. Not only the characters, but the world's societal interactions are completely nuanced with regards of realism. Things aren't just good or evil, nor are they "shades of grey". Every character and or organisation (country) has driven motivations that brings this story to life.

I absolutely love the banter moments between Slade and Frost and can't wait for more. Please do book 2 SOON! PLEASE! Again, fantastic job to both narrators with their phenomenal performance in bringing this series to life.

Advisory warning, this book has intense sexual descriptions, violence, both harems and monogamous relationships, foul language, incredible humor of realism, and extreme character titles that mmo's would be sued over. Listen to this highly fun and entertaining story at your own risk.

Where are the rest of the series

We definitely need the rest of this series Audible. We also need to keep the same narrators. The story flows well though scene shifts are a bit ragged though not ponderous. I like the combination of several RPG systems though I would like to see how Frost is going to advance from where he is. I might have started him off a bit lower since it seems he might be subject to level creep later on to prevent him from reaching god status.

refreshing

This book was refreshing to listen to. Mc isn't a beta male simp and it doesn't spend 2 minutes of every chapter reading off stats. If the sexual content was removed it wouldn't take away from the book. The plot for the book isn't just thrown in to just have sex story telling. It's kinda of a driving point for the MC, so it isn't just a bunch of BS thrown together and makes it enjoyable.

Decent, but not

I'm going through the first 3 books back to back so you can assume I like the series so far. If you like your books nsfw with a decent wrapping then I would recommend this series.

good story butt

I like the story but in my opinion the amount of the book dedicated to describing the x scenes is a bit much, they are good, but well eventually they started to be a bit annoying just wanting to get back to the story. it's like ok ok you're getting it on kewl, now get back to the story.

refreshing world and unmatched performance

This story has it all going for it. The characters are well developed with strengths, weaknesses and inner-demons. The fighting scenes are chaotic just like you would expect in reality. The only thing I would really hope for is a bit more developmenr of the antagonists. They are good, but we don't really see much depth beyond them being politically motivated, bigotted assholes.

The performance was probably the best female/male duos I have heard. Conner and Flitton flow together seamlessly matching in emotion and intensity. You feel as if they are performing together at the same time and place.

The under-dog nature of the followers of Shalia are also a relatable aspect of the story and makes you feel the need for the Herold to succeed. He's literally fighting for the most hated and spited of all the underclasses who have done nothing to deserve their treatment.

A different version of an Elven world.

The elves are misunderstood, humans are mean and the Hero is not a nice guy. This is a saucy tale that many gamers would find great. Those that like harem stories will enjoy this tale.

Great book

I’ve never read or listened to a gamer book before but this one was good. The sex scenes are literally like ready porn. The only thing I didn’t like was use of “cunt” and “pussy”. I feel like it could have been better to use other, nicer, words like other romance books do. Either way, I’ll be buying book 2 and hoping the rest of the series comes to audible.
