Publisher's summary

As the Halloween season approaches, the newest residents of small town Eminence are hard at work opening a haunted house attraction called Hellsworld Hotel. The local townsfolk are excited, especially the teenagers. Normally, you would have to drive to one of the big cities for something like this. But local Sheriff Stan Maxell is skeptical, even more so when he takes notice of how many of the young people in his town are disappearing.

Hellsworld Hotel is a tale of family horror in the vein of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and House of 1000 Corpses, brought to you by the author of The ADHD Vampire and 30 Minutes or Less.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This one has been compared to movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and House of 1000 Corpses, and honestly that is a legit comparison. It also explains why this one didn't really resonate with me. Not my favorite movies. But Hellsworld Hotel is loaded with the graphic violence and splattery goodness that I love. The monsters in this tale are human and holy cow, they are something else. The narrator of this one was also well suited to the book, but sometimes a bit annoying. I didn't like his female voices at all. So while this one was not my favorite by this author, Vaughn's ability to conjure up bonkers amounts of gore and situations that induce visceral reactions made for an entertaining read. What can I say, I like to feel things, even if those feelings are disgust. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 for me. Pretty good read, but lacked something that I can't quite put my finger on that would have made it a great read.

Gore and gore and more gore

It reminds me of a Rob Zombie story. Not really what I was expecting and definitely not my cup of tea. Expect a lot of gore, blood, raunchy sex, and antagonists that enjoy it all. Back story itself could have been interesting if they explored it. But the main objective was to gross out.
