Publisher's summary

The internationally best-selling author of Goodbye, Things shares insights and practices to help us embrace habits and become the best versions of ourselves.

Fumio Sasaki changed his life when he became a minimalist. But before minimalism could really stick, he had to make it a habit. All of us live our lives based on the habits we’ve formed, from when we get up in the morning to what we eat and drink to how likely we are to actually make it to the gym. In Hello, Habits, Sasaki explains how we can acquire the new habits that we want - and get rid of the ones that don’t do us any good.

Drawing on leading theories and tips about the science of habit formation from cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and sociology, along with examples from popular culture and tried-and-tested techniques from his own life, he unravels common misperceptions about “willpower” and “talent”, and offers a step-by-step guide to success. Ultimately, Sasaki shows how ordinary people like himself can use his principles of good habit-making to improve themselves and change their lives.

Must listen for habit building.

Loved every part of it and the first one I've ever finished listening to.

His books are good.

I originally found his work at the thrift store. I picked up goodbye things and as soon as I finish that I looked for more of his books. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you can get it on audible. These are going to be books that I will play more than once.

Enlightening

I liked the format. The narrator goes through the steps one at a time and I found it most helpful.

great for the commute

I mostly listened for my 1 hour round trip to and from work. But found myself also letting it play when I got home and at bedtime. I backed up a lot and may even listen to it again. great narration/reader too

Wonderful

Such a lovely read. I'm turning 30 this year and some how I've convinced myself that life is over. If you're feeling stuck in your ways I'd suggest this book, even if you're not and you feel like you have everything set, I think you'll learn something new. I love the writing style as well, simple but hits.

Helpful guidance from someone who walks the talk.

This was not only informative but ACTUALLY motivated me to successfully change some habits. I appreciate how the author has clearly been through this journey himself, which makes him a "Peer" of sorts. This makes the content more credible and more inspirational. I enjoyed the narration too. I just might make "Goodbye, Things" my next listen. it's already on my Wish List anyway. Good work, much respect; keep it up!
