Publisher's summary

Agent Kit Morris. Has a nice ring, doesn't it? It's a big step up from "wanted criminal" or "that weird con-artist guy with weirder psychic powers", both of which recently applied to me. But my promotion to MagiPol agent comes with a few drawbacks.

First, supremely talented and effortlessly gorgeous Agent Lienna Shen won't agree to a dinner date with me. Second, my new assignment has pitted me against a guild with very bad taste in pets. Third, those pets are demons, and those demons want to kill me.

My psychic magic is great for conning people. It doesn't do jack shit against hellish orcs. If I screw this up, my dinner date will be with a demon - and I'll be the dinner. Even better, I kind of suspect this supposedly straightforward assignment is actually the tip of an unholy iceberg of power-hungry malefactors bent on destroying all law and order in the city.

I should probably mention that last part to my boss.

Amazing book

Loved this book. I am enjoying everything from Annette Marie so far. I enjoy her character development and the interconnectivity of the story arcs.

Ok I love Annette Marie

So anything she writes I love !!!!!!!
I read this book first so I already had a kit voice in my head; so I didn’t particularly care for the Narrator. However I will listen to it again I’m sure. Just because you have to listen and read more then once

Kit's on his way

Kit's story isn't as compelling as Robin's nor Tori's. This was another fun frolic as Kit pays his dues as an analyst in order to be come a field agent for the MPD.

enjoyable, on your toes kind if action

funny , exciting, witty. Kit is the sarcastic jerk some of us only hope to be . :) The nice thing about well written books if you feel like you have just watched a movie instead of listening to an audio book.

More About Kit

This was more info about Kit, but compared to the rest of the Guild Codex series and even the first Warped, this one fell a bit short of the mark that I would have expected for a book 2. Not bad, just not what I expected.

Kit and Leanna are up to their necks in Demons

Kit is trying to get closer to Leanna. However, her past, Demons, and their boss keep interrupting his attempts. Even extremely cold dips haven't dissuaded him from doing everything he can to keep her close.

Can't Wait for book 3

I love how Annette Marie allows us to see events from different perspectives while still giving us completely new stories to enjoy. This book gave us a chance to see some of our favorite Crow and Hammer members while exploring some new aspects of the events we have already seen unfold in Tori and Robin's stories.

Kits at it again

I Love seeing one of our favorite bad guys on the good guy's side. There is a lot of humor and fun on these books, but also a lot of action.

Fun

I’ve always enjoyed Ms. Marie’s stories but with her collaboration with Mr. Jacobsen, this series is a little bit more Snark than normal. It’s very enjoyable and fun. It can also be read without reading the previous series in the same universe. Kit is introduced in the other series but the timelines don’t quite match up. This story appears to take place before Kit is introduced in the other series. However, since the mention of Robin and the Crow & Hammer is here, the other series provides the background for her and the guild. Mr. Toma is a great choice to represent Kit’s voice. He sounds just like I would imagine Kit would sound.

Campy, but fun.

Ok, I freely admit some of the dialog and similes are a bit juvenile - but they make me laugh and are part of the charm of the books.
