Very helpful, however...

This book is well structured and has many great points about the psychology of eating. However, when a thin person gains 30 lbs in two months, it's not just about willpower. It's insulin resistance and a very common thing to happen to a woman in her 40s because of all the hormonal changes. Fortunately, there is abundant keto research available now (Dr Jason Fung and others) which shows that many people can fix their hunger cravings by going into ketosis which fixes insulin spikes which fixes hunger. After insulin resistance is under control again, you can pick your diet and apply the psychological techniques in this book.

Refreshing and Hope-filled

I love Becks words of encouragement as she shares the truth about weight loss and dieting. Her cognitive approach is helpful because I know more than anything that eating is emotional and mental and the solution to weight loss and health has as much to do with changing the way you think than anything else. CD 4 DOESN'T COME WITH AUDIBLE VERSION

If you provide a website where I can go to see the tools in CD4, often mentioned in the narrative, it would be most helpful and I can listen while using those tools. Lots of great information in this book, but no tools as mentioned in the narrative.

Wow -- it really works

I was 20 pounds from ideal weight, 15 lbs to where I would "settle." I've gained weight gradually since age 50, and attributed it to menopause--after all, I exercise strenuously 5 days a week.
I listened to this on a 4 hr plane trip and I was so inspired, that I listened on the way back 6 days later. I downloaded the PDF today, and I'm ready to start the 6 week program.
I've lost 5 lbs in the 10 days since I first listened. I didn't realize how much I was eating. And I'm amazed at how easy it is to stop the cravings. I'm actually leaving food on the plate, even Thanksgiving Day. And, it's much easier to follow my diet program (McDougall). No more excuses and I feel great.
This book focuses on developing habits day by day. Reading it may be a little easier because of the the way she develops each lesson. However, I usually "read" in the car while listening to my IPOD and this version is fine.
I now feel confident that I'll achieve my ideal weight and I'll be able to fit into my skinny clothes by Spring!

Great book - need files

This is a great book, focusing more on the mental aspects of weight loss. It's not just another meal plan/exercise plan book, but it goes over the emotional reasons people may overeat. So far so good. Just one thing: The narrator refers to CD 4 with .pdf information. Would you please provide this data on the site?

Where is the PDF?

The book is very good, and the program very doable. But audible readers need to have access to the information on the CD she is always talking about. Why are they not provided here? And where can we get them?

Top Diet companion book by far

Where does The Beck Diet Solution rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The book itself is really good and useful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

A bit tedious to listen to all in one sitting. I really wish they had broken out the chapters naturally instead of the large generic 4 chunk chapters. Since this book is suppose to be listened to over 41+ days, it would help greatly. As a result, I had to listen to the book, breaking out chapters by bookmarks. Not pleasant.

outstanding behavioral coaching

Any additional comments?

Worked like a charm. However, before doing this, I had to clear up some shame and guilt and feelings of undeservingness. If you are sure you want to lose weight and are ready to handle the almost inevitable positive results, do this. I listened to 1 track per day, exactly how she advised.

I recommend you follow her advice when she says not to start your diet until day 15. It's hard to wait, but those prep weeks were invaluable.

Missing information

I loved the inspirational messages in the reading, however, the narrator referred to lists from which the listener was to choose from and never read the information in the lists- a major flaw in an otherwise good read. Perhaps those pages could be accessed elsewhere?
