Publisher's summary

Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin.

With such blunt advice as "soda is liquid Satan" and "you are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin", it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant.

Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there is solid guidance.

Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized".

Rare Candor In A Diet Book

Renee Raudman does an excellent narration. This book is a "must read/listen" :-) Rory & Kim are bang-on with their observations about the food industry and the impact it has on societies around the world as well as excellent insights into losing excess weight.

skinny bitch

loved the info. hated how dirty mouth it all was. swearing, nasty comparisons, etc. However, that said, I do want to become a skinny B. I would BUY this book instead of listening to it because there are websites and brand names that you will want to have written down.

Pros and cons

The good news is that this book is very powerful in making you question what you always thought to be true about your food, diet requirements, and taking control of your health and provides a lot of research to back itself up.

The bad news is this book is not for the faint of ear. I curse but this book had more profane language than even I was comfortable with. In addition, the book is designed to motivate the unmotivated. If you’re already motivated it just feels like chapter after chapter of shaming which I’m not personally a fan of and being an audio book it’s trickier to skip over parts you don’t necessarily need to hear.

Finally, the narrator’s vocal volume isn’t consistent. Listening to this in the car was difficult as road noise drowns out her normal volume when she speaks to the science behind our food (the parts I really wanted to hear) but in turning up the volume she is practically shouting at you to stop being a fucking pussy seconds later. That gets old very quickly.

Overall a decent read but the style certainly isn’t for everyone.

Very snazzy and straight to the point

I have a degree in nutrition and still found this book pretty good and humerous. If you are oblivious to the nutrition world you may not understand some topics or terms. If you are looking for a book to give it to you blunt about why we should eat less meat then this is the book for you!

A punch to the face!

This is a very real, down to earth, and solid book. It's things we all know, but pretend we don't so we can use ignorance as an excuse. A no-nonsense approach to getting healthy with good advice and no sugar coating. Loved the sass!

Listen to the whole book

I about returned this after the first chapter. Tone and profanity clouded the message and sounded like a high school prom queen's personal attack on society. As I listened and the tone softened, I could hear the message and appreciated the value of information provided. I would recommend this as an alternative to those who don't have time for the china study.

Informative and Entertaining

Although the title of this book is Skinny Bitch and is directed to women, the information in this book is beneficial to everyone. I am a new vegan and this pointed me in the right direction. You get straight up facts, blunt advice and with a dash of sarcasm and brash. I really enjoyed it.
