A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

Archmagos Belisarius Cawl invites representatives from across the Imperium, hoping to secure their assistance in unlocking the secrets of the pylon network. Among the attendees, however, is an uninvited guest who may possess the only mind in the galaxy greater than that of the fabled Archmagos…

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The showdown of two much-loved characters finally occurs – Fabius Bile vs Belisarius Cawl. Each is a genius in their own right, and both are willing to do things most others won't to achieve their goals.

Which of these two megaminds will come out victorious?

THE STORY

In the hope of taming the Great Rift that divides the galaxy in two, Archmagos Belisarius Cawl invites representatives from across the Imperium to the artificial world of Pontus Avernes. Confident he can convince them of his genius, he must secure their assistance in unlocking the secrets of the pylon network – significant structures built by an ancient race that he believes can stave off the pull of the warp. But among the attendees is an uninvited guest: Fabius Bile himself.

The Pater Mutatis needs no validation of his genius and has his own agendas, the pursuit of which will bring about an epic confrontation of the galaxy’s greatest scientific minds – and from which only one can emerge victorious.

Written by Guy Haley. Narrated by John Banks. Run time 10hrs 15mins (approx).

F****** Incredible!

Guy Haley knocks it out of the park / I recommend reading “The Great Work” first / lots of character exposition there and references, but this also stands on its own. It is one of those books that moves the setting forward and I love being along for the ride :)

""I really haven't changed that much..."

"i really haven't changed that much...despite all this. he waived various appendages down at various, other appendages" - Belisarius Cawl

Okay, I'm quite sure this book will have some very ... passionate debate behind it. I enjoyed the Cawl and crew lore way more than the implications of the plot, on the future. I reallly enjoy Cawl and the gang...almost as much as Valerian and Aleya.

Also, Johnny boy struggles to differentiate Cawl and Bile. Didn't bother me, but it's worth a mention.

Truly an excellent story, the voice actor was on point and there are far too many highlights to go over here. a must read for everybody who knows 40k lore and even if they don't.

A great Chess match

I loved this story because it's finally pushing the Chaos Space Marine upgrades forwards. I enjoyed seeing Alpha Primus meet chief apothecary of The emperor's children and their confrontation. the future of Warhammer 40k looks bright and I can't wait to see what happens next.

The Nararation.

The Voice Actors range, and ability to display individuals is amazing! Every character stood out strong, and clear.

Good

Cawl is fastly becoming one of my favorite characters in 40k. This book brings him down to Earth, so to speak, in a couple ways. He's still the smartest guy in the room but we see some weaknesses here. One spot where this book suffers is a side plot dealing with some knights. it's not poorly written but it feels like filler as it has no impact on the rest of the story.
