Great collection

I was surprised that I enjoyed all the stories. Normally there is at least one that just doesn't appeal, but they were all enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyable...

I enjoy M/M mystery-romance, Josh Lanyon being one of my favorite authors so I was super excited to listen to this anthology of stories. Eight stories from eight different authors. What a collection. I enjoyed all of the stories, some more than others and as is the case. When I started listening to A Country for Old Men...I said to myself, I'm not going to like this one. Yeah, it was probably my favorite and I actually shed a tear or two. Excellent writing all around...some better than others but all worth listening to and allowing yourself to get wrapped up in the intrigue, mystery, and romance.

Mystery-Romance

Long and packed full of mysteries, with a little romance on the side.
Some very very good. Some less good. But all over an interesting listen

Pleasant cozy mysteries

The stories were well performed with pleasant stories. There was little sex, I didn't notice any bad language and the mysteries were not graphic. My problem is, I wanted more. I listened to the first two and didn't want to invest 22 more hours. The characters were kind, capable and loyal. I would happily recommend them to anyone who wants a cozy mystery but that's not my personal taste.

Excellent dual naration!

Story wise I feel each mystery worked well some stories I enjoyed more then others, with Lanyon's Stranger in the House being my favorite (ok, Country for Old Men was not necessarily enjoyable it was pretty bleak but it ended with a sense of hopefulness) and Kale and Joel are awesome as always trading off on each story.
I feel like Kale is such a quintessential Lanyon narrator (can't wait for I Buried a Witch) so I was pleased Joel got to read Stranger in the House. :D

Good value

I quite enjoyed most of these. The one that stood out to me was Reality Bites by S.C. Wynne. I listened to that story out of this anthology repeatedly. The characters are great, the romance is on point, the plot is interesting and the whole thing just works for me really well. I love sarcastic characters making quips at each other and Jax and Decker are masters of that. They are each from a different world, but they get each other and I feel that they could really make it work.
