Publisher's summary

Wanted: a situation-ship.

I’m a single female who’s tired of relationships ruining my life. However, there are times when a date would be helpful. If you’re a single man, preferably mid-20s to late-30s, and are in a similar situation, we might be a match.

Candidate must be handsome, charming, and willing to pretend to have feelings for me (on a sliding scale, as the event requires). Ability to discuss a wide variety of topics is a plus. Must have your own transportation and a (legal) job.

This will be a symbiotic agreement. In exchange for your time, I will give you mine. Need someone to flirt with you at a football party? Go, team! Want a woman to make you look good in front of your boss? Let me find my heels. Would you love for someone to be obsessed with you in front of your ex? I’m applying my red lipstick now.

If interested, please email me. Time is of the essence.

From the USA Today and Amazon Charts best-selling author comes a “fun and flirty!” fake dating situation between two coworkers that quickly straddles the line between friends and lovers.

My new favorite couple

This was just as good on audio as it was in print! Both of the narrators did a wonderful job with Moss and Brooke as well as the rest of the characters!

This might be my new favorite book from Adriana! If you loved the Masons you are going to absolutely love the Carmichaels. If you don't know who I'm talking about, don't worry you don't need to know who the Mason Family is, but I highly recommend reading their books! This first book in the series centers on Moss and Brooke.

Moss and Brooke have been working together as a team for the last 2 years. He does the demo and construction and she does the interior architecture for his family's company. Their professional work has won awards, and they are friends. They have great banter and like to joke around with each other. Neither wants a romantic relationship because they have both been hurt in the past and don't want to be hurt again. Unfortunately, Brooke needs a "boyfriend" to accompany her to her grandmother's 85th birthday party so she can live up to her mother's unattainable standards. Moss ends up agreeing to be Brooke's fake boyfriend after his family decides to meddle in his personal life and to help out Brooke with her unreasonable mom. They come to a fake dating agreement, but their feelings quickly take a turn into not so fake.

I adored Moss and Brooke together. They were so oblivious to their feelings for one another at the start of their "situation-ship". I loved their banter and the antics of the Carmichael brothers. I also really loved Brooke's best friend Jovie. I hope Jovie gets a book! Brooke has not had alot of unconditional love in her life, but Jovie is a breath of fresh air and is always on team Brooke no matter what. Moss has had an unfortunate experience in the relationship department that has left him scarred for life when it comes to love. He does however accept Brooke as she is with no conditions, and seamlessly fits her into his life. This has everything I look for in a romance, great characters, good banter, laugh out loud moments, and it will make you feel all of the emotions. Once you pick this up you won't want to put it down. There is also a good level of spice.

I can't wait to read Maddox's book Fling next! The Carmichaels are going to be ridiculously entertaining and I cannot wait to read each of their stories!

Awesome book!

Such a good book wish I would have read it soon. Love the interaction with each other. Plus the interaction with the Carmichael family is the best. I hope we get more stories of all the brothers!

Moss & Brook

The storyline was good and the Carmichael Family is a hoot. Would have liked to see more heat between the two, especially on the side of Moss and not just Brook, it would have given more balance on each POV. It was a cute story where you can't help not Liking Brooks screwed up Family with the exception of Honey. I enjoyed li8to both Narrators.

Entertaining

Performance:
I absolutely loved this audible. Lance Greenfield and CJ Bloom are both dynamic narrators and well matched when it comes to delivery and cadence between characters / chapters. This is a comical, steamy, and sometimes emotional listen all of which this duo conveys convincingly.
Story:
I can not emphasize how much I relate to Brooke. Even if I didn’t personally relate to her many of the things she struggles with I think plenty of adult women would…career, love, mothers, insecurities, ducks… these themes are something I think most women can relate to. I am happy to say that while she might struggle she never comes across as whinny or weak (very much the opposite) and for that I am grateful to Adriana Locke and how she wrote this heroine. As for Moss…SWOON! Besides being incredibly hot the man has the best heart and can go all kinds of Alpha when needed. <fanning myself>. The jokes, the chemistry/steam, and the true connection all make for such an enjoyable and entertaining listent.

In true Adriana Locke form this is the start to what is sure to be a 5* family series. I already love the family dynamic between the brothers and their parents. Again, I loved this listen and I am so excited to see what’s to come!

Sweet hero and precious heroine. Filled up my love bucket!

I loved the hero in this book. He was all cinnamon roll and adorable. I especially loved that this was the first of a series. Because I am not sure I will ever get enough of the Carmichael family. Like ever. Adriana (author) is so good at writing guy characters. Their conversations are always the best.

Brooke was the cutest heroine too. And I loved that she was an interior designer. And the fact that she knew the hero for two years. I can’t until the next book in this series comes out.

Audio Rating:
I love the narrators for this book. They did a great job depicting the more southern voices. So so so good.

Flirt

Moss and Brooke's story was such a fun read. I have gotten to read the ebook and listen to the audiobook and enjoyed both.

I loved their co-workers/friends to fake dating to more. I liked them individually and they were so good together. They had plenty of chemistry and sweet and swoony moments. It was interesting seeing their relationship develop and how it took fake dating for them to find something real together.

The story and writing are engaging and entertaining, and I found myself smiling and laughing as I read. There's also no shortage of secondary characters that add lots of humor and fun. I am already looking forward to the next book!

Great series starter!

I loved the family dynamics in this! The Carmichael family are a wild bunch, that’s for sure. This was a fake dating, workplace romance, but with a friends to lovers twist! Loved it! The only thing that made me mark this down, was the narrators. A lot of the time, they both were a little too full on. Like it felt a little too acted out. Other than that, I loved it! Moss and Brooke were so cute together 🥰

Flirt

First the cover is stunning sucked me right in, I went in blind as I usually do. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Fake dating isn't my favorite trope but this was so well done.

Brooke is a character I can get behind. I loved the relationship she has with her boss and their children and her friends. I almost feel like because of her own family she made a family of her own.
Her Social post was funny and it cracked me up. But it was 100% justified in why she needed to make the post in the first place.
Moss is an incredible guy and I love the way he steps up really even before she says why she needs him.
How effortless their friendship and how easily it changed for the better.

Now you would expect this trope would be high drama-lama you would be wrong this had the perfect conflict with low drama. I loved Moss's mother!

I loved Moss's mother! What she says and how she says it, perfect I swear the fact that she gets it. Even if the truth hurts.
Fantastic start to a series. I love that we get a lot of characters without getting overwhelmed.

Great fantastic narration Lance is a huge favorite of mine and CJ Bloom does female voices to perfection.
