Listen to The Outlander series

There was a moment in this book I found myself in the grocery store parking lot at the edge of my seat gripping the steering wheel. Wow.

I’m obsessed with the Outlander Saga!

I’ve been watching the Series since Season 1 and I just love the story, the characters, the scenery and costumes. I read the first book, Outlander and was so impressed with how well it had been adapted to the screen. Of course, I loved the book! When season 3 started I knew I had to read Voyager so I signed up for audible and listened to the ebook. The story continues to warm my heart and soul. The reader is absolutely perfect, I can’t help but picture Caitrina as Claire and Sam as Jamie. I find it so amazing that Diana Gabaldon, born and raised in Texas, can capture the culture, dialect and details of such a far off time and place. It is as if she is channeling someone from the 18th century or maybe she went through the stones herself.

Davina Porter does such a good job with these books. Don't know if I would have "read" the Outlander books if not for their availability on Audible. The story is really fun, but occasionally the writing is a bit of a slog...I skimmed the first book in print. But Ms. Porter's narration, the accents and voices for the characters, the pace of her reading - just exceptional. Makes the books so much fun to listen to...sometimes when listening I just can't "put the book down!"

Outlander Series

Love this series! fourth time through! Dianna Gabaldon is a genius, creating a beautiful story that passes through time and covers generations, includes history along with everyday thoughts and life of her brilliantly evolved characters.
This is my 4th time through and I will read them again and again!

I find each book is just getting better. The third edition is my favourite so far. I can not wait to listen to the fourth.

James Alexander Malcolm McKensie Fraser! Who doesen't want to date and marry the captain of the football team! duh?

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Perspicacity

If you could take any character from Voyager out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Jamie, even though you know he wouldn't leave Claire. It would still be fun to try.....

What did you love best about Voyager?

This book had a lot more consistent action in it. It kept me on edge the whole time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Voyager?

The reunion of Claire and Jamie. Hands down it is my favorite literary moment ever.

Have you listened to any of Davina Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes and I wish she could read every book I wish to hear. She has such a command of languages and being able to do masculine and feminine voices which allows me to lose myself in the story. I cannot rave enough about her performance. She has never let me down and makes this already enjoyable series even better.

Again I am caught spellbound by these books and by the superb narration of these books!
