One house is perfect and ready to move into while the other is a fire-ravaged wreck that needs a lot of work. They figure they have plenty of time to work on the damaged house while Daisy recovers from a traumatic event. Soon, they discover that the two houses share a common link to the past. Something awful once happened on Nelson Street, something that shook the town to its core.

This book kept my attention drawn all through the book. it had me on my toes trying to figure it out. it kept me intrigued. Narrator waa great as well. She is one of my favorites

Great book, Great Narrator
This book was great! Great premise, great descriptions. The narrator was chosen well. I absolutely love that there’s a flicker of mental health in the ghost story- makes it seem more open to interpretation. Highly recommend.

Creepy Intriguing Atmosphere
Who doesn't love a haunted house book? What's even better is a haunted castle! Mystery and ghosts and seances- great main character. Loved this book so much. Narrator did an amazing job.

Can not get enough!
I love Wendy Webb's storys. I love big old houses. I love paranormal thrillers. Put these three together and I have the perfect book. I' m happy! I want more!

great for a snowy day!
If you love a good gothic or a ghost story this is a book for you. It was a fast read because I needed to know the end before I could stop thinking about it. I think this would be a great discussion for a book club providing you have one where the people actually read the book. You will want to discuss the ending. I really loved it. I also loved The Fate of Mercy Alban. I need to read everything else she has written.

Wow!
Yes, 'Wow' is what I said when I finished this book.
This is a story with a lot of mystery and a bit of suspense and a lot of paranormal happenings. And, the author kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next. I loved it! The narrator was good, but some times I'd get a bit confused as to who was suppose to be talking. But it wasn't really a problem, overall.
