Publisher's summary

Frontier Justice is the first book in the post-apocalypse Survivalist series by Dr. Arthur Bradley. (Series Order: Frontier Justice, Anarchy Rising, Judgment Day, Madness Rules, Battle Lines, and Finest Hour).

The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals.

To stay alive, U.S. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines must forage for food, water, and gasoline while outgunning those who seek to take advantage of the apocalyptic anarchy. Together with his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, he aligns with survivors of the town of Boone in a life and death struggle against a gang of violent criminals. With each deadly encounter, Mason is force to accept his place as one of the nation's few remaining lawmen. In a world now populated by escaped convicts, paranoid mutants, and government hit squads, his only hope to save the townspeople is to enforce his own brand of frontier justice.

Halfway across the country, a killer is released from prison. With hopes set on a fresh start, he rescues a young girl desperate to get home. As they travel across the wasteland that once was the United States, they must call upon every bit of strength and courage to survive not only the horrors of the new world but also a violent government agenda.

Surprised how I really like the Story

It was kind of slow and hard to follow in chapter 1 but as the story goes it is really good . Not really into this type of story line but the author is good. I normally don't write reviews but as i listen to this book I swore i read the book or store before? On to Book 2

Can't wait for #2 on Audible

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed this book. Has a similar post-apocalyptic story line. However what I loved most about it was the characters. Thought it was great that they are all interconnected somehow. The author switches between 3 different characters telling their story. I found myself wanting the narrator to hurry up because I wanted to hear what was next for Mason or Tanner&Sam! Definitely recommend this. Narrator doesn't ruin the book. Don't let those reviews deter you.

Just get through it...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I think the book was a decent book. Not as knowledgeable or polished as some other survival type genres but was an ok book. But... was almost unbearable to listen to! I wanted to find a paper copy and finish the book.

Would you be willing to try another book from Arthur T. Bradley? Why or why not?

I have already decided to try the next book because they switched narrators.

What didn’t you like about Jamie Buck’s performance?

Everything! It was extremely horrible. Only on occasion did I get a reprieve from the nerve wrenching characters he created (tried to create). All the characters sounded, well... dumb. Literally, dumb. Like they lacked any sort of education, or that they were 6-8 years old. I just purchased this book willy-nilly, but I think if I would have just listen to the preview, I could have saved some time and just found some cliff notes or the like and moved to the next book.

In addition, how could the producers, publishers, or for that matter Audible, even allow the quality of these recordings to even leak to the public? I listen to this book in my car and had to lower the raise and lower the volume constantly, in addition I had to break into the EQ on my deck to find the dang frequency that was slaying my ear drums. Seriously?

I listen to a lot of books, and this particular audio release took the cake. And made a mess of it. I had to give performance a star in order to write this review. There was not a "no star" option.

Any additional comments?

I will give this title a pass just for lack of due diligence. But I am holding some reservations.

Alright Audible where's the next, had to Amazon

I really wish the second in this series was in Audible but I wasn't going to wait I went to Amazon and got the Kindle copy. Audible please get the rest of these I really like the whole character and circumstances etc etc and only wish I could listen rather than read the next in the series. I don't get much time to read but I drive long distances and the audible is SO great I hate to not find the next there.
If you're into these adventures you're going to love it, it's well written the narrator does a very good job, the characters are well developed and I completely recommend it to you.
You're going to enjoy it I assure you.

Good story, bad performance

I felt like the narrator was performing one of those cheesy action flick trailers the whole time.

Not a prepping manual, just good story

Recently I have been enjoying the end of the of world style books. But this book gave me something I could not have expected. It gave me a glimpse back at my child hood.
"good guys where white hats, bad ones where black" that the simplest way to tell a story was to tell it simply. If you miss that, you will love this.

What i didn't like. The reader sounded like Allen alda from mash. But they fixed that in the rest of the series.

I found it interesting that all those who reviewed this book poorly all commented on things that I made me love the book.

Yes its written in a dime store western style, or radio serial
Yes no one says "her eyes were two emeralds floating in pools of milk" but I could so easily picture it that obviously the author did his job.

In a nutshell, Think the tv show justified meets a sitcom about two unlikely best friends, a man and a spunky little girl throw in a little gunsmoke, and in the following books ad some I am legend. And you get this series.

If you are looking for, patriots, 299 days, one second after, you wont find it here. You will find a story about a man and his dog.

Mediocre post-apocalyptic fan fiction

This seemed very formulaic. The characters were cliches. Overall not a horrible book but I got the impression that this was the authors first novel ever.

formulate your own opinion

good book, looking forward the next one...i understand a few complaints about the narrator. at times he does seem rushed but however I thought he did a great job of playing so many different characters.
