Publisher's summary

Only one man could set her heart ablaze....

Lady Averill Mortagne learned to control her fierce temper as a young girl. But if her father insists on parading her before one more English lord who looks askance at her flame-colored hair, she'll simply scream! Her only respite is the time she spends with Kade Stewart, the wounded Scot her brother brought home from the Crusades. Who could have imagined a Highland warrior would be the only gentleman around?

Lady Averill helped save his life, and for that Kade is truly grateful. She is also almost unbearably beautiful, but he could never subject such a sweet and gentle lady to the rough life of a Stewart laird's bride... or could he? When she braves an unexpected danger by his side, Averill will prove to Kade that her heart is as fiery as her hair ...and that submitting to their scorching passion would be heaven indeed.

Dead romance

While the voice actor is great at pronouncing words and easy to understand but she is so dead sounding. There is no passion, she sounds like she is just saying words rather than reading a book. Honestly I am thinking of reading the book myself and posting up my audio of because this audiobook is really really bad.

Truly terrible narrator

What a boring disaster of an audio book. It's unbelievable that this woman reads books for money. With over 100 audio books, this is by far the worst narrator.

good book, BAD narrator

I was all excited about starting a new book so I purchased Hellion and the Highlander. I was SOOO disappointed as soon as I heard the narrator's voice that I had to turn it off because it was annoying me to much.

Yuch!!!!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one

What could Lynsay Sands have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Chosen a different narrator

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator needs work on dialectic and differentiation between characters.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Any additional comments?

I couldn't get through the first 10 minutes of the book because the narrator was so irritating.
Part of the reason I listen to historical romances is because the when the narrator uses the dialect and accents from the specific country. When it is done correctly the narrator transports the listener back to the time and period the book is set in.

Disappointed

I absolutely love Lynsay Sands. However “The Hellion and the Highlander” started out great. It was a good story, very funny in parts, but after the great beginning the story drags. Making the the rest of story drag even worse was the Narrator Marianna Palka. The H speaks so slow, it’s painful. Her narration is almost monotone when not in character. At times I could not understand what she was saying and wasn’t sure which character was speaking. She might be great in other books, just not this one. These are my opinions only though. If it looks interesting to you, try it! You may love it!
