I love Fern's Books and especially her choice in Narrators. Laural really knows how to make a story come to life!
I wasn't impressed. Sounded like a good story idea but I found it to be juvenile and not well done ... much of the dialog left me cringing and wondering why I was still listening.
The story line held your interest very well I like the idea of Fern Michaels books not having
a lot of sex, books are better with a good story line and no sex. I liked the idea that
Pete and Lilly wanted to look for their truth from younger days. I loved the idea of Josh
being able to confer with his friends from beyond.
Josh because he showed his strength
The premise and storyline were pretty good, but it wasn't written very well. I heard the phrase "every emotion in the book went through [his/her] [body/head/face etc]" more times than I care to remember. There was really only one detail that you couldn't figure out from the beginning of the book. Most annoying was when something would happen, and then we'd meet up with another character and give a complete retelling of the events, and then meet up with another character and retell everything yet again. I wish I could have liked this book because I really think the concept behind it was intriguing and really could have gone somewhere, but it wasn't written well enough that I'd recommend it to my friends.
The story failed to hold my interest, and the characters were not likable.
Bases on this performance I will avoid this artist in the future. The speed with which she speaks is annoying, and her tone harsh.
