Publisher's Summary

"Rainelle, you were eye-f--king me in the casino."

Rae couldn't exactly deny what Andrei, the king of the incubi, said so matter-of-factly. But she is her father's daughter and having a forbidden liaison with a sinfully irresistible demon king is not something her demon hunter father would have approved of. With just one glance from Andrei's piercing cerulean eyes, however, she found herself being plunged into delightful unknown territories, and only half-caring whether she should sink or swim.

Should she fight her unholy but oh-so-delicious-attraction to the dark lord, or ignore the warnings of her demon hunter blood and just give in to the indescribable, enticing pleasures he brings her? If you love sexy romantic comedies with a dash of supernatural, then this charming story by Kimber Lee of a beautiful sassy PI and her seductive, drop-dead gorgeous demon king is for you!

    Fun, humorous ,entertaining and enjoyable.

The story pulls you in and all you can do is hang on for the ride. Your earbuds might melt. If you don't like a lot of sex, hot steamy, rough and explicit sex in your books then this is not the book for you.

Rainelle Erickson is an untouchable, a demon hunter by blood and a PI. On an investigation she winds up getting mixed up with a variety of supernatural characters including Demons, Angels, an ancient Succubus and the Incubi Demon King just to name a few.

Rainelle is a demon hunter who falls for one of biggest demons of all The Incubi Demon King.

    Does end in a cliffhanger

The But - I'm on the fence about this one. Overall I enjoyed the book. There were a few scenes that I could have done without. While I have no problem with sex in my books, sometimes less sex and more story is better.

Audible has this listed as Humor, needs to be under Erotica/Paranormal or a combination of the two.

Melissa Barr did a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice easy on the ears. Nice smooth pace. Clear pronunciation. Great character voices. Well done.

What did you love best about How to Kill an Incubus?

This was definitely a fun story well worth the time. I got this under the comedy section, there was a couple of funny lines and a whole lot of sex.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Melissa Barr?

Melissa Barr was amazing, I absolutely loved her narration of the story

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no, due to the content it just made for uncomfortable situations 😜

This book wasn't for me, it wasn't bad... but not one of my favorites either.

Rainelle or Rae, the female lead of the story, is a Supernatural Private Investigator.
She happens upon Andrei Angelescu, the Incubi King, at a casino and sparks fly.

There is explicit language and scenes,
also, a Heads up, this book ends on a Cliff Hanger.

Melissa Barr did ok with the narration.

"Wow, not what I expected BUT oh so much better"
If you could sum up How to Kill an Incubus in three words, what would they be?

    Steamy, funny, and amazing

Who was your favorite character and why?

My Favorite character was Andre. I love a tough guy who doesn't know how to deal with his feelings. There is something so endearing about a man who chooses to be kind and soft to those he loves rather than keeping everything hidden inside.

What does Melissa Barr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved just about everything in this book! The story was amazing the writing impeccable and the narration was almost perfect. I really liked the steamy scenes like any self-respecting romance novel reader, but that was certainly not all. the only bad part was that I could hear a bit of an accent when she said her "R's"

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

There is something so satisfying as being killed by an orgasm.

What did you love best about How to Kill an Incubus?

Kimber Lee kicks ass with HOW TO KILL AN INCUBUS. You can tell when an author tries to back pedal on graphic content (they use euphemisms instead of specific words) or when they are trying too hard (characters and sex come across as stilted and contrived). Lee's story is unabashedly, apologetically raw, graphic and explicit. This candor shone through the fearless storytelling and hooked me on this author.

What other book might you compare How to Kill an Incubus to and why?

My favorite paranormal romance series is White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland. Fans of Kimber Lee might also enjoy this series. The narrator of White Trash Zombie - Allison McLemore - does an outstanding job bringing the heroine Angel Crawford to life.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Although this story is first person, I felt Melissa Barr came across more as a narrator than the embodiment of Rae. I felt she did not capture Rae's sarcasm, strength and vulnerability.
Her performance did not detract from the story, but likewise did little to enhance the audio experience.

    "Violence and Sex"

The writing in this book was good and the narration was excellent. That being said, it was not the kind of listen for me. It is about an incubus so naturally there are plenty of explicit sex scenes which I usually enjoy. There was some light bondage and forced sex that made be a bit uncomfortable. When the lead character tied her incubus lover to a chair and started beating his face with brass knuckles to which they both got off on, I stopped listening. Others may find this book enjoyable but it was just not my cup of tea. It was listed under the Comedy section on audiobookboom but should have been under the Porn with a violence notation.
