Wonderful performance

Wonderful performances which helps one become immersed in the story. Stoker could have taken out the entire half of the book and it would be more interesting.

The Best Rendition of All Dracula Audiobooks I’ve Ever Listened To

This audiobook is the only best that I’ve ever listened to. Others were boring. Greg Wise delivered a rather intense and sophisticated performance. I would buy another audiobook only read by him. He made the characters come alive and quite interesting and real that it was hard for me to stop listening to his style of storytelling.

Absolutely brilliant.

One of the best works of the ages. I'm sad that it's over! :-) The writing is amazing. The story never stops moving. And if you've seen any Dracula movies and think you have even an inkling of what it's about... Think again. Read it.

Excellent

Well performed and amazingly thrilling despite a well worn vampire theme. This 19th century masterpiece is an original that is well worth the time spent listening.

Great listen!

The first narrative sounds hauntingly good, the description of the castle in Greg Wise' voice is terrific.

One thing Castro got right

This book is long and worthy of its length.
The reading is best when accents aren’t attempted . Although this bothered me the story is a thing unto itself

Glad to have finally gotten around to reading this

I really enjoy the classics in general - for some reason I had not yet gotten around to reading this one. I was very happy with the journey. It was great to see the birth of many of the myths and legends that pervade modern media.

The book is written through letters and journal entries which makes the story a bit choppy but I was able to get used to it after awhile.

Revelatory

This is a wonderful novel in a variety of ways. It is, firstly, "novel" in its form and structure. It is largely comprised of letters and diaries and telegrams that reach give a glimpse of the emerging hope but which, at least initially, fails to reveal the complete situation and the horrific despair that underlies both the hunters and the hunted.

This long, deliciously complex narrative has little in common with many cinematic treatments of the story; only the the most superficial elements can fit within an economically acceptable screen time. This story has horror and a pervasively melancholic mood, but it also has chivalrous romance and deep friendships. It is all held together by formidable intelligence throughout. This can be perceived, for example, when the hunters are considering possible explanations for events, and when they are planning and executing their hunt.

Many who think they know this story, don't. The narration was good (with the possible exception an, at times, spotty southern accent for Mr. Morris,) and added much to the experience.

I recommend this book, and this recording of it, highly.
