Just read it

I couldn’t handle the narrator and had to stick with reading. This books deserves a better voice!

💕

Loved the story. There were some 90s lingo that was a little cringey and dates the book, but the overall plot, love story and spice was excellent. Will continue in to the next books.

Disappointed with the narrator

LOVE LOVE LOVE the series, and all the spinoffs. I have read them multiple times. However, the narration leaves the whole thing a little flat. There is zero personality given to the characters. They all sound the same, and all the things that cracked me up EVERY TIME I RE-READ the books, didn't even give me a giggle when I listened. Even the urban-speak, sarcasm, and colloquialisms are all read with the same tone and volume of voice as everything else. I have recommended this series to many, many people, but if I had listened to the audio version first I don't think I would have made it past the first book. I'm going to try the 2nd one, since it's one of my faves of the series and see if it was just beginner's (un)luck. Obviously the author thinks he is doing something right, or he wouldn't still be narrating on book 22!

Hopefully it gets better….

I’ve heard a lot about this series and was excited to start it. But I’m hoping the books get better as they go along…? This one was quite boring, basic and kinda “cheesy”.

Go ahead and get the whole series

Jim Frangione really made this series for me. I had never read any of J R Wards books but decided to give it a try. I was so thoroughly entertained. I hope Jim will continue to narrate any of the Brother Hood series. The language was hilarious, the build up sensuous and the series intriguing.

Great book! Lousy narration.

J.R. Ward's series is unique and powerful and unlike anything on the market. I have read and then listened to her books. Her plots are gripping and she creates believable characters. However, the books lacks because of the narrator. He sounds like he is reading a text book! I have purchased all there are in the series mainly for the fact that I love Ward's books and I am an impulsive buyer and though I have not regretted my purchase, I have a hard time with some of the scenes. I am almost finished with the Sixth book in the series and the narrator seems to be getting somewhat better although I think at this point I may just be getting used to him. For my future purchases I would never buy a book narrated by Jim Frangione. The only reason I stuck to this one is that I have read them before. Listen to the sample before you buy. If it does not blow your skirt up, buy the book and read it!

Juvenile writing quality for adults situations

The character names are ridiculous. The love story is juvenile and one dimensional. There doesn't seem to be any particular plot or story structure. It isn't going anywhere. Overall, rather juvenile in every way. I keep hoping for more, but so far nothing to really excite me. By the end, I did like some of the characters and was kind of curious where things were going to go, but I'm just not sure the writing quality is worth further investment.

The narration was very flat and basic. Hardly any changes between characters or to express emotion.

5 Dark Lover Stars

When I read this book, I didn't know about reviews. Now that I am re-reading the series I think it's about time I get on the ball.

Wrath the vamp is totally one of my most favorite to read, watching him go from being this bad ass warrior to this Hellan. Is truly remarkable.

He knows he is going blind and that it is enviable but he is fighting it just like he is fighting his bloodline. His father was King of the race so he now, in turn, will become King. But he isn't ready to put up his shitkickers just yet he has a lot of fight left in him.

Beth just a normal every day human, only she isn't she is in transition. Meaning she is going to become a vampire or she will perish in the turning.

Watching these two is beautiful and heartwarming. A love story for the age.

Also all the fun characters we meet along the way. Wraths brothers, all show up and they are kick ass fighting machines against the omega and his minions.

Freaking LOVED this book...

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
