    "wonderful"

I love this series. I've read the books several times and wanted to be able to listen to them on the way to work. At first I didn't care for the narrator Jim Frangione and even looked to see if he narrated the rest of the books. But after the first few chapters you could tell Mr Frangione really started to connect with the characters. I really enjoyed this audiobook. I will warn... These books are steamy and it's different to hear the sexual encounters than it is to read them. I was a little pink at times :)

"Great story, can't stand the narration"

I would have given this more stars but for me the narration was so jarringly WRONG, I couldn't rate the audio book higher. Never fear, I was able to get past my initial dislike of his voice and cruddy acting skills - and I'm so glad I did. I have since read (on my Kindle) 7 more of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and am very thankful I found them! While I was a devotee of the romance novel in my young adulthood, I have since moved on to mysteries/suspense/paranormal/urban fantasy - romance novels now usually bore me. Not these! They're an awesome mix of the action/supsense and romance... I highly recommend the series (even if I can't recommend the audio book!)

    "Boring!"

I hated this book. I've listened to more than 50 "Urban Fantasy/Romance" type books since I first fell in love with the Twilight series.

This is by far the worst I've listened to. I only forced myself to listen because it had so many good reviews and I hoped it would get better. It didn't.

There isn't any love or romance in this book. There isn't any excitement until the last chapter or so and even then it's dry and predictable. There isn't anything supernatural really, and the characters are stupid and boring. The sex isn't even interesting. Don't waste your money if you are over 16.

"Great book, not my favorite narrator"

This was a great book: good characters, strong plot, lots of action. The only problem I had was the narrator. He wasn't bad enough to detract, necessarily, but his accent and attitude reminded me too much of a goodfella and distracted me. I think I would have preferred to read it in print.

    "better than it started"

I have always loved vampire stories, and since I have exhausted many other sets, I needed a fresh series. I will say, that in the beginning of the book I was hating it. I didn't understand much of what was happening and had a hard time keeping the vast number of characters straight. But don't give up! It really does get better! I ended up really loving the book, and the fresh take on vampires and their society. The author does a great job of allowing the story to give you the angle of all the characters, and in the end there is good character development. The guy's voice annoyed me a little at first, too, but it also grew on me once I understood the characters better. I hope the succeeding books are as good.

    "Don't waste your credit"

I wanted to like this one.. I REALLY did. I'm a paranormal romance fan and this sounded like it would be right up my alley... boy was I WRONG! I don't know if it was the narrator, or if the book really was that bad. The voices sounded the same- all of them, and sometimes it was hard to follow. The sex scenes were uncomfortable to listen to- poorly read, and poorly written. They storyline seemed choppy and jumped around way too much to my liking. I will NOT be buying the 2nd in this series. If you want a great story with GREAT sex.. check out Jeaniene Frost or Karen Marie Moning (loved the "Fever"series).

"1st is not as great as the rest of the series"

I love this series, the men are so different you will fall in love with each one, they are perfect yet faulted. Wrath is awesome, but v and butch are God's gift. Narrator Jim Frangione does a great job.

    "The most thrilling vampiric series"

Dark Lover marks the beginning of the most thrilling vampiric series. The series are full of action and seduction. These books become part of you and you can live the brotherhood experiences as it happens. A great well thought story. Two thombs up!!

    "Dark Lover"

This is my all-time favorite series! I've read the all books twice, and decided to check out the audiobooks during a long car trip from TX to NY. At first, I had a hard time telling the Brothers' voices apart and I wasn't crazy about Z's voice. He sounded like a whiny teenager. However, the narrator did get better as the book went along--either that, or the voices just grew on me. I highly recommend a listen to any BDB fan! You'll fall in love with the Brothers all over again.

"Incomplete - story and narration editing"

There were several things that bothered me about this book. The main ones were that the scenes seemed incomplete and the 8 second pauses between scenes drove me batty. Battle/action/love scenes were horribly underdeveloped and if I were actually reading the book many couldn't have taken up more than 2 pages. The narrator did slightly change his pitch when talking as a female character but mostly the only difference in how he talked was if he added an accent (which again were poorly done). I might give this series one more try in the hopes that book 2 is better developed.
