Publisher's summary

The first novel of J. R. Ward's New York Times best-selling Black Dagger Brotherhood series features a unique take on vampire lore and heavy doses of sensuality.

The vampire Darius fears for the life of his half-breed daughter, who is unaware of her unusual destiny. To oversee her transformation, Darius seeks help from Wrath, a dangerous loner and the world's only purebred vampire.

Love The Series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I love this audiobook. It has action, suspense, and romance all tired into one. I have recommended this audio and the other series associated with the Black Dagger Brotherhood to all my friends who love to read and listen to audiobook.

What did you like best about this story?

I like how this story was not like a lot of the traditional stories of vampires. It showed another side that could actually be possible if this was a real life story.

What about Jim Frangione???s performance did you like?

I love the way Jim Frangione narrated the story. I was able to identify each character. The way the story was narrated I was able to picture each scene as if I was actually watching it on a movie screen.

If you could take any character from Dark Lover out to dinner, who would it be and why?

If I had the chance to take any of the characters to Dinner it would probably be Beth. I would love to have girl talk over dinner about her life with the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Any additional comments?

I first heard of J.R.Ward from a young lady I was serving jury duty with and I have been hooked every since.

okay vampire mate story just not my cup of tea

why the story start out good I felt it had to many players . A few of the vampires had too close of names and confused me a little. The vampire story was different but by the end I was bored and ready for the story to be over with.

New and Awesome

This is another great start to a series. Wrath and the others are a new take on the supernatural world for me. The whole introduction to this world and characters was perfectly done and I'm wanting more.

Excellent & suspenseful!

A great story with twists & turns. Loved the chemistry between the main characters but plots of sub characters interesting, too! Witty banter between characters was well-written. Great narration! Would definitely buy next book in the series!

NOT BAD

It's a decent story. A little confusing at times due to the narrator not giving many different voices for the characters, but he reads sufficiently and I got used to it about half way through. I'll be listening to the next book and hopefully there will be a little more action in it. This one was a bit flat and when any drama would start it seemed to end quickly. Maybe it's just me. I just barely felt any tension or worry when listening to this book. Hope the second book has more excitement to it.

Amazing series. And keeps getting better.

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I have read the book in a row 4 times. But this listening on line is wonderful. I can stop and start all the time. I can rewind when needed. The narrator's tone is so soothing. Buying 2 more right now.
