If you could sum up Dark Lover in three words, what would they be?

Action, love, exciting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Beth cuz she is true to who she is. Also not scared to standup for what she believes in.

Which scene was your favorite?

Couldn't pick one they are all great.

Any additional comments?

Great book! But not for teens under 16.

Good Story, eh narrator but worth it

What three words best describe Jim Frangione’s voice?

Would also do well reading a Physics textbook.

Any additional comments?

So I'd heard about the J.R. Ward Series and they are well written, addictive when you are in the book and over all worth the credit. I would however say the narrator is not my favorite. These books fit into the category of escapist sweet nothings and are very enjoyable for that reason. The other similar series I have listed too, Jeamiene Frost's and Charlaine Harris', are right in that boat too - they however have MUCH better narrators.

The series is different from the two previously mentioned in that the story is told from each of the main characters' perspectives. Where as in those other series you have one narrator either Cat or Sookie here you will hear Wrath, Bella, Mr. X (the evil character) etc. Just a different approach but you don't get that same hero/heroine connection. Or rather you do its just not as deep. It is interesting that you hear the inner monologs of both sides and she put everything out there so there isn't a lot left to wonder about.

J.R. Ward's plots are very similar throughout, the classic and expected good over evil. The reluctant lover who ends up being passionately in love with the other and so on...Escapist greatness. As 'predictable' as that is having the stories vary amongst the brothers and their individual personalities and issues does keep the story interesting.

Overall definitely a 4.5 for the series (at least as far as I am into it - and looking forward to more)

Some audio issues.

Fun story. Some audio issues with dead air for a while, but overall ok.
I enjoy the story of Beth becoming a Vampire. Different than the classic vampire stories, like they enjoy eating garlic, although going out in daylight is still fatal.
Sex is as always on their mind, lol.

Beginning of series

Ok, so ... I'm hooked after reading book one in this series. There's mystery, intrigue, suspense, a level of terror, and darkness. There's also some dry humor and a ton of romance. Lots of testosterone filled mud slinging too.
There's quite a bit of background development but that only adds to how it begins. The narrator is strong throughout and makes sense for the kind of book that it is. Oh, and Beth and Wrath make for a solid couple.
I've got a feeling I'm going to be held by this series until the very end.

Love the book

It took a while to get used to the men speaking the book, you know, reading the story out loud. He got better as he went on. I love story line.
