    "Maberry does it again..Excellent!!!"
Would you listen to Bad Moon Rising again? Why?

Yes- characters are intriguing and story is compelling.

What other book might you compare Bad Moon Rising to and why?

You know that is really hard... I like the fantasy/sci-fi/horroresque novels and the way Jonathan writes and the characters he develops are very unique! I just like his style!

Which character – as performed by Tom Weiner – was your favorite?

    Malcolm Crow of course!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Jonathan does such a good job with his character development that I found myself getting internally angry with Ruger and Vic Wingate!

    Any additional comments?

Great book... I highly recommend the Joe Ledger series!!!

Finally, the conclusion to the pine deep trilogy. The first two books left alot of open questions, here is where they are all answered. Great job Mr Maberry.

"You have to read all three!"

The first book leaves you wondering a little where it's going, the second is where it starts to gel and gets creepier. The third book is where it all comes together in quite a thriller!!

"Vampires, warewolves, ghosts & zombies oh my!"

It's a little slow at times but The characters redeem the story and there are times when I was truly concerned about their well being.

An unexpected twist on the vampire warewolf zombie ghost genre - and yes all of these are somehow in the tale!

    "Maberry does it again!"

In the thrilling, heart stopping conclusion to the Pine Deep Trilogy we see the great battle for good and love come to an earsplitting, gut wrenching. crescendo. You'll be at the edge of your seat with your fingernails dug in as you follow Crow, Val and Mike to their fate. Enjoy!

    "Wow, what a great series"

Wow, what a great series. I first became a fan of J. Maberrys with his Joe Ledger Books. After I ripped through all 5 like a wildman, anything from Maberry had to be great so I added the Pine Deep Trilogy to my "To Do" list. The only thing I can complain about is that I waited so long to get started on it. Since the next Ledger book is coming out later this month (3/32/14) I decided to queue them up and go!
I listened to all three back to back to back so this review is going to encompass all 3 books, but dont worry, Ill avoid spoilers. One piece of advice, forget everything you know about werewolves and vampires. Maberry has a really nice twist that will leave you a little lost until Bad Moon Rising (book 3) when it all comes together nicely.
Great writing, great story, great characters, great narrator in Tom Weiner. When I first started I felt a Stephen King vibe in the depth of the characters and surroundings, but not a rip off way, just in the buildup. The story unfolds over the three books, and you are given bits along the way. Maberry treats us to a variety of bad guys, not just one or two. You get your pick of who you hate the most. So for me, this was a real good listen. If you like your listens in the 10 hour time frame, then this may be much for you since you'll invest 47 hours in it. If you like a nice long walk in the park of death and mayhem, then this is a good one. @byf2

"This is the only one you need:"
What did you love best about Bad Moon Rising?

The good guys win! They survive werewolves, vampires, ghosts, nefarious drugged candy, child abuse and bad coffee

What other book might you compare Bad Moon Rising to and why?

I compared. It, unwisely, to the Joe Ledger series. I read all three books in this particular series, but you do not need to do so. Skip 1 and 2. This book recaps nicely, brings you up to date and proceeds at a good clip. It is not as good as the Ledger series books but it was worth the credit for the most part. The end was a bit rushed.

What does Tom Weiner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was a good narrator and had a good repertoire of voices, a nice pitch to his voice and appropriate pace.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Supernatural menagerie

    Any additional comments?

Buy this book, skip 1 and 2 of this series and use the credits to get the Joe ledger series. Maberry is a hoot in those.
