Publisher's summary

"Ray Porter is the perfect book narrator. He submerges so completely into each character that they come alive as individuals. He allows the story to speak rather than making it ‘his’. He’s also fun to work with –and we have done a ton of projects together. It’s to the point that I hear his voice in my head when I’m writing. And even though he’s reading my work, his performance is so nuanced and entertaining that it allows me to listen to my own audiobooks as if they are brand new. It’s a fantastic working partnership." Jonathan Maberry on Ray Porter

Joe Ledger and Rogue Team International plunge into mortal peril as this new and deadly arms race threatens to ignite new wars throughout the Middle East.

After years of searching, a new cave filled with Dead Sea Scrolls is found, and among them are bizarre books of actual magic. Terrorist groups and multinational corporations scramble to acquire these treasures in the hopes that magic is the true WMD of the 21st Century. But everyone who goes near those scrolls goes insane. The fabric of reality is shredding. Is this the result of ancient magic, or is it a new bioweapon that fractures the mind of anyone exposed?

Cave 13 pits Joe Ledger against warring factions of ideological terrorism, corporate greed, and massive international crime syndicates in what might well become a new Age of Miracles.

Fan-freaking-tastic

I have missed Joe and the gang! Such a great book and narration, as usual. Jonathan Maberry is stepping up his game with this installment of the Ledger series. Some of the gadgets, weapons, and theories in this story would be scary if they were real. This went to some dark places and did not leave me with the warm & fuzzies. I have a feeling the next one is going to be even darker and scarier. Can't wait.

Again!

Every time I think Mayberry is out of story content for Ledger I get proven wrong. Never boring, always exciting and Ray Porter!

Well written, well read

Character development and story line are on point as usual with Jonathan Maybury. They way that Joe ledger has changed in so many ways yet stayed true to his character is key to tying this whole series together. Narration was excellent as ever with character voices consistent through this book and series in general

Great But Could Have Been More

I’ve listened to every Joe Ledger book. A couple twice. I love them. Want them to never end. But, this book took a little too long to get going. Did I enjoy it? Of course. Was Ray Porter pitch perfect? Hell yes! A little more editing next time Mr Mayberry and you will take Joe back to perfection.

Action Packed

As usual , Cave 13 brings us action and scenarios that closely mirror actual global events but take up a notch with a creative imagination. Great series

The Terrorists Have Nuks

With another thrill a minute entry from Jonathan Maberry, we enter the action-packed world of Joe Ledger and company. Having recently recovered from his bout with "The Dark Side", Ledger is asked to take on the task of uncovering a plot surrounding another world destruction takeover. This time it involves a supposed Santa Clause like humanitarian called Mister Miracle. In reality, he is a sociopath selling weapons to the Muslim Extremists in the Middle East and creating a secret gas that unravels the brain of anyone in its path into a self-destructive trance. Add to that a subplot with an unknown "Mr. October" with plans to rid the world of Joe Ledger, and you have Joe Ledger and the entire team doing their entertainment finest for the listener.

Of course, this entry is narrated to perfection by Ray Porter who has become The Voice of Joe Ledger when it is his turn for first person narration. Such great stuff that I will overlook my quibble with Jonathan Maberry constantly reminding us that the extreme terrorists do not represent the vast majority of Muslims. After all, this is the age of "Wokeness" and we have to be constantly talked down too. Sigh. Anyway, enjoy the listening. It is another terrific entry.

May be the best!

Great listen and definitely looking forward to the next book. One of the best book ending I’ve listened to in a while.

Top notch

The transformation that has happened in joe is unbelievable and so well communicated. This specific title did such a great job of creating the feeling of unease. Multiple Joe Ledger books dabbled in "losing yourself and control" but no other book has created that feeling of helplessness quite like this one did. Brilliant

Joe is back!

Joe has returned to the War, but the War is Evolving into something bigger. Johnathan Maberry has brought a next installment of Rogue Teams battles in the War, and things are changing. Higher stakes, bigger loss, and a new ally! Are they they ready? Read and find out. Ray Porter as always is at the top of his game, letting you feel like you are there. Giving depth and emotions to the tale.
