Publisher's summary

Read by award-winning narrator Ray Porter

In New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry's thrilling Relentless, Rogue Team International joins Joe Ledger in a new hunt that spans the globe and journeys deep into the terrifying landscape of the human heart.

JOE LEDGER’s world has been torn apart. The people closest to him have been savagely murdered and Ledger is on the hunt for the killers. His already fragile psyche has cracked apart, allowing a dangerous darkness to overwhelm him.

His hunt takes him deep into the world of the deadly black market weapons sales, and standing in his way are a new generation of private military contractors. These mercenaries have been enhanced with cutting-edge cybernetics and chemical enhancements, transforming them into real-world super soldiers. Stronger, faster, harder to hurt, and fitted with built-in weapons. They are beyond anything Joe has ever faced.

But he is not the Joe Ledger they expected to fight. He is defined by the Darkness now. The attempt to destroy him—to break him—has backfired. Instead his enemies have turned him into a far more fearsome weapon.

Everyone is out for blood.

Another great one

At the end of the previous book, Rage, the twist at the end actually “took my breath away “. I was stunned. And I was beyond anxious to get to the next in the series because- what happened?! Joe’s family could not all be gone! What a long wait it felt like to get to this one.
As always Ray Porter IS Joe. He IS Church, & Toys, & Bug, & Top and on and on. He is oh so talented.
I enjoyed this book as I’ve enjoyed the series. It takes a different turn, focusing on Joe’s “solo” trek. I found that I really missed the team scenes. The humor and interaction that would lighten the mood a bit from those aspects of the story is an important part that I was hoping to find. This is far more intense of a story. It also felt as though there may have been just a few too many different locations/scenes etc so it was missing consistency. But overall it was another winner from JM and RP.

Like fine wine…

Every chapter and every book just gets better and better. There are a lot of books about a lot of Heros, but there is nothing like Joe Ledger, written by Jonathan Maberry and brought to life by Ray Porter.

Thank you both for the hours of direct enjoyment and for the place you guys occupy rent free in my head. I can’t wait for the next one!

Another one for the books.

Jonathan and Joe do it again.

I genuinely enjoyed this tale from RTI. There always seems to be a level of intensity and a rollercoaster ride of emotions with these stories. That being said, I could feel the smallest touch of political bias. 51/49. But all in all, it was an enjoyable book!

And a nod to Ray Porter. Without him, Joe would not be who he is.

Great but a little confused

Fantastic story as always. I’m almost never picky but, it blows my mind that from book to book they get some upgrades but are always behind. The end emu always progressing. That being said I figured with having one the only quantum computer mind reader that the RTI should clearly have had the leg up. There was as far as I can remember one group that made the quantum stuff. Your telling regular albeit super smart black hat hackers created a way to overcome a quantum intrusion system just cause. I’m all for willing suspension of disbelief but come on.
RTI should have been way ahead on its intel game.

So in conclusion great story but weird that they were still just reacting. So much for having all the friends in the industry and best toys I guess.

A terrific hell of a ride.

Maberry and Porter have done it again and show us why Joe Ledger is the new Archenemy of Evil. Enjoyed the hell out of this from start to finish, with heart pumping joy & deep emotinal tears, riding with Joe thru his most worse nightmare.
Hooyah!
