Syren Rua is at war. He battles painful childhood demons and his intense need for the first person who makes him feel. As Faro, Syren makes deals with the worst while taking the steps necessary to bring his family’s killer to justice. He isn’t one to indulge in selfish needs, but he’ll make the time in this instance. Syren has been watching Kane Ashby, craving the grieving man for his own. He’s always stayed away from temptation, but that’s about to change. Kane isn’t over the death of his longtime partner. He’s certainly not ready for a relationship, sexual or otherwise, but Syren isn’t a man who takes no for an answer. The unpredictable Syren offers nothing but secrets and brings with him memories so dark, they could wipe out any chance the two might ever have. Syren brings Kane’s heart back to life. But it is also Syren who could inflict the most damage. Inside Scoop: One of our heroes has a panty fetish. And it’s hot. This book also contains brief references to rape and child abuse.

Overall, I enjoyed most of this installment in the Brooklyn Sinner's Series but the narrator's portrayal of Syren was not to my liking. Sounding like Hanibal Lecter isn't sexy to me and it pulled me from the story. Syren is supposed to be sensual not creepy.
I enjoyed seeing the MC's from the previous books books quite a bit. I found that there were many plot holes and "the big misunderstanding" in this book was annoying as hell.
I have enjoyed Renard Parsquale's narrations in all of the Brooklyn Sinner books, just not his voice of Syren. I would keep Renard and beg him to give Syren a new voice.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
FYI: This is m/m romance.. and graphic violence... It's a gang member/cop romance... so be warned!
Ok... Out of all the books in this series... This one always makes me cry!!!! I feel so bad for Syren and Kane... for different reasons of course..but still!!!
Syren is Farrow, which we learned at the end of book 1... but his backstory was simply sad and outrageous! Plus Syren as Farrow... dang he is still suffering!!!
I really liked Kane, but I after a while I just wanted him to give in..but he was so hung up over his last lover.. C'mon already... it's been 3 years!
Loved the ending...
Narration, yet again...superb!
Unlike a previous reviewer, I did not feel that Syren Rua sounded like Hannibal Lector. Syren is a complicated character, and I feel that Renard Pasquale did a great job of bringing him to life. Some parts of the story were a little hard to take, but you cheer for Syren in the end. I liked the story and the narration.
Awesome, Breathtaking, Cute
Syren Rua - I think he is one of my top ten favorite characters, and my second favorite in the series . I cant put into words why i love him so much hes damaged but strong and beautiful at the same time.
Syren Rua - I can not imagine any other narrator doing what Renard Pasquale did here .. the voice was perfect and just what I imagined.
Damaged people can love too.
Get this book!
This was a nice 3rd installment. However, I hated Syren's voice, so it took a little away from the book. The narrator did a great job on the other voices. The story is just OK. The 2nd book remains my favorite as I thought the couple's story was a little more exciting. This story was a little boring. Mostly it is about exercising demons. But, I really like the way previous couples are incorporated into the story. This is definitely a series you have to read in order to get the full effect. Worth a credit if you are a fan of the series.
Great narrator, great story, Love the story of Kane and Syran. What a story of past and present intersecting with each other and having to fight demons and ghosts.
Syran was by far my favorite character in this book, maybe the whole series. What a past to overcome and a passion to avenge it. His ability to love is unbelievable all the way to the end when he even learns to love himself. LOVED this story.
Just with the other sinners books! Good narrator, would buy an audio if he was the narrator.
Yes, tried to listen to the whole thing in one day while going back and forth with reading it when I could not listen
"This book is not for the faint hearted"
Yes, there is so much going on and this is the longest book in the series. Also Syran's story was very painful to deal with so I found it much easier to absorb the whole book in audio form. Thanks for choosing a really good narrator.
When Kane finally came to his senses and went after Syren
So many moments in this book to pick one. Syren telling Kane about his life after he was rescued from his last owner.
