Publisher's summary

It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her?

The sex professor burned my ears off

Holy Crap ... Living hard, living free, its one way to go about it I suppose. This book portrayed a lifestyle I'll never actually live. It was interesting to observe though, and I can totally get on board with a sexy guitarist. Geez, seriously parts of this one had me blushing, and I'm no light weight. I recall wondering how Justine O Keef did such a great job reading those words out loud, I mean she had to know others would hear. I would have been giggling like a school girl, like probably a kazillion takes worth of giggling. Hats off...
Random comment: I never did nail down a time frame for the setting... 80's 90's or now.

PS: Yup, I got book 2, and liked it too!

A great romantic heavy metal sexual estacy

Have you ever wanted to be that special girl that magically catches someones attention who is everything that you want in a guy: sexy, lean, hard, burning good looks, talented, genuine, uninhabited, famous "Sinners" lead guitarist and totally into to you...will do anything for you but never loses his edginess which keeps you wanting him....And you are beautiful, smart and talented, and strongly independent and he gets it and adores it....And wonderful luscious sex when no ones tires...
Just a really good read, the story is totally believable, makes me think back to the good ole day... and Justine O. Keefe's performance is spot on, the guys sound like real guys while Myrna is sexy and smooth.. Go ahead READ IT...

The Beginning of Another Rocker Series

You can call me a sinner if I get to go on tour with these guys! The story will hold your interest and it gives you just enough to know you want the details on every band member. Be prepared to want to listen to the entire series.

I was not prepared for this book

This book like Myrna’s research on groupies, is out of control. Myrna’s internal struggles because of Jeremy is contrasted by her own analysis of the groupies. Spoiler Alert,we have a cougar, secret mfm trio, voyeurism, jealousy, bold female behavior, the results are ambiguous. The book like her professional credentials are an exploration of non judgmental human sexuality. While I can see how people do what they do, what got me most was the character development. All the bands members are endearing in their own ways. My only request for improvement, add a male voice it would add balance, other than that, I plan to complete the series.

Intense

What did you love best about Backstage Pass?

Backstage Pass was hot, but yet had a decent story line. I love the characters in the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Backstage Pass?

This would give too much away. The entire progression of their romance was memorable!

Have you listened to any of Justine O. Keef’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have not. The first book I gave her a 4; however, in book 2 I gave her a 5. Her raspy voice is perfect for Sed. She did an outstanding job with the voices!!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Ah, not sure I could write that here. This book is intense and hot!

Ehh yes and no

I like the idea of the story and I am going to listen to the whole series but I don’t really love the narrator. She didn’t really do bad it just doesn’t fit for me. And I do love a good sex book as much as the next but I really hope the next 8books aren’t non-stop sex because it’s impossible to listen to it outside my bedroom. And I like to be able to take my book to work or the store or the gym and if it’s too much sexy time it feels kinda shady listening to it with my boss walking around or my son in the room or with “Mrs Jones” on the treadmill next to me.
Things I did like, the story felt realistic for a rock band. Lotta sex, drinking, roadies, fans and living in close quarters. I do like that they are willing to try all mater of things together and be open and honest and patient with each other. Over all liked the story I would just like it better with a few less sexy time moments and a different narrator.

Loved it!

**This book may be unsuitable for people under 17 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.**

Backstage Pass was exactly what I want in an erotic romance! I don't read much erotica, but when I do I want a solid story and complex characters to tie all the steaminess together. Backstage Pass delivered all that, with only one minor irritation for me (knocking it to four stars).

Myrna was really a great character to read. She's full of contrasts. She wears a suit, with garters. She has a PhD, in human sexuality. She gives lectures at conferences, using guitar rifs from rock bands. She doesn't drink, but she'll hang at the bar with a rock band. Myrna is complex and I loved discovering her layers.

Then you've got Brian. Master Sinclair, lead guitarist of The Sinners. He's your hopeless romantic, stuck in the life of a rock star. Not that they can't be hopeless romantics, just that the lifestyle - with the groupies and fan girls can make it hard to find anything real. And Brian wants that.

What I liked about Backstage Pass was the way we get thrust into this rock star world but aren't drowned by the stereotypes. I mean there is drinking and lots of crazy, hot sex (erotica remember!). But there's also distinct personalities, friendships, and struggles. I loved the engagement with a fantasy - I mean who doesn't dream of hot sex with their favorite rock star/movie star ? - but also the reality that kinda smacks you in the face. Life on the road, no privacy, driving all night, etc.

Here's the one thing that bothered me. Myrna was burned by a past relationship, badly. And that added a great dimension and complication to the story. But goodness gracious, I got tired of the way she kept lying to herself about how she felt about Brian. It didn't match the strong, confident woman. I believed it to an extent, because even the strongest person can be deeply scarred by emotional abuse. So it wasn't a deal breaker at all, it just irked me at times.

Oh and the narration was fantastic! Justine O. Keef did a great job with all the voices - male and female alike. The only thing that could have made the audio better in my opinion, would have been actually hearing some of the music - but I think that's an unrealistic want ;)

If you're looking for a steamy read with a good story to propel you between scenes, Backstage Pass is a must read.
