Good basic information to start eating healthier. I like that a “diet” is not given. Recommended foods to eat and why.

Book was great, but narrator was awful!

This book was great. I took away many helpful tips to eat more healthily. However, the narrator was just awful. He sounded snobby and I had a hard time getting past it. I wish I had purchased the hardcover book as there are so many things I would like to go back and reference.

Life changing information

This book by Dr. William Li is wonderful. Had I seen the thickness of the actual book before purchasing the audio version however, I'm not sure I would have attempted to read it. (ha) I'm very glad I did. The information in this book is amazing and to know that it is backed up by science, and not just opinion and/or monetary motivation is the real gold. It's what big Pharma and the powers that be don't want you to know. If your not an avid reader of books, I don't feel it would be a great book to get through the end of, simply due to the amount of granular detail Dr. Li goes into regarding foods, It might seem too monotonous and for that reason I'm glad I chose the audio version. I found it best to listen during my 2-3 mile walks each day and that proved to be a perfect way to ingest all the info. If you are looking to better your health once and for all, and are tired of what your seeing in the mirror each day, I highly recommend this book! I personally have lost 20lbs already by eating many of the foods in this book over the junk I used to eat and I feel great.

Narrator Was Unbearable!

I love this topic and was very excited for this book but I made the mistake of not sampling before purchase. The narrator didn’t seem to fit the content and I barely got through the first chapter before calling it quits. He has a really slow, smooth jazz voice and it seemed better suited for a raunchy romance. I just couldn’t take it. I would say buy the hard copy instead.

Thanks, but……

Nothing this old gal didn’t already hear before. Been there, done that. Heard it all. I’m sure the Dr knows the caloric intake of fruits. As for me, on about a 1200-1300 calorie per day diet, I could not justify even a piece of fruit, let alone any kind of fruit juice, (even though there might be some health benefits). I do appreciate his knowledge and all the research put into his book, but honestly, it’s nothing I haven’t heard of already. Even recommending food journaling-think Weight Watchers?? As for me, strict caloric intake and 4 x week on an elliptical is the only thing giving me concrete results. Did not like the narrator’s voice. Just put me to sleep.

Detail is amazing, facts I believe are true!

I like the way Dr Li backs up his detail with clinical tests. Not small tests but extensive testing.
