Publisher's summary

From New York Times bestsellers Preston and Child, archaeologist Nora Kelly and FBI Agent Corrie Swanson are tasked with the mysterious deaths of two people found at a site where a UFO allegedly crashed decades before.

Lucas Tappan, a wealthy and eccentric billionaire and founder of Icarus Space Systems, approaches the Santa Fe Archaeological Institute with an outlandish proposal—to finance a careful, scientific excavation of the Roswell Incident site, where a UFO is alleged to have crashed in 1947. A skeptical Nora Kelly, to her great annoyance, is tasked with the job.

Nora's excavation immediately uncovers two murder victims buried at the site, faces and hands obliterated with acid to erase their identities. Special Agent Corrie Swanson is assigned to the case. As Nora’s excavation proceeds, uncovering things both bizarre and seemingly inexplicable, Corrie’s homicide investigation throws open a Pandora's box of espionage and violence, uncovering bloody traces of a powerful force that will stop at nothing to protect its secrets—and that threatens to engulf them all in an unimaginable fate.

Please, please, no more male voices

The book was good, great even, but Ms. Farrell lowering her voice to portray a man is so irritating. Use a guy, please.

another GREAT PrestonChild novel!!

the story was very thrilling. It held my interest so much that I could hardly wait to get back to listening. And I love the repeating characters.

Disappointing and disjointed

Having listened to every Preston & Child book in the Nora Kelly series, with some books several times, I can only hope that the authors put some real effort into the next chapters. This one ends as a very weak attempt at keeping several previously well crafted characters worthy of further interest.

Ho Hum…

Somewhat of a disappointment. Not crazy with its story or narration. A real letdown after all the other wonderful books and productions of the past. Good title but it all just came down to a car chase and a bunch of unbelievable exposition to justify an interesting but far fetched idea. Pass on this one.

The story would have been better narrated by a male

The female narration kind of ruined the story for me. I think if it was read by a male it would have been a more enjoyable book. I generally love books by these guys. Scott Brick would have done this narration justice.

Extraterrestrial intrigue?

Slightly disappointed, not up to what I was anticipating from these great authors & story tellers. There wasn't the anticipation & intrigue of mysterious consequences nor supernatural phenomenon. Expected more, very typical story line for extraterrestrial discoveries.

Diablo Mesa

Excellent book, great story involving the excavations of artifacts at the Roswell New Mexico Alain crash site (novel only) and the discovery of murdered spies buried in the site. Great story, highly recommend it. This was written by the authors Lincoln and Child, it is a Dr. Nora Kelly novel

Extraterrestrial

Nora Kelly is excavating a the desert site where an extraterrestrial ship supposedly landed 80 years ago amid a massive government cover up. Nora finds herself falling for the rich man who believes that a spaceship from another place in the universe did actually land here. I found way too much technical jargon to really enjoy or even follow the story as it unfolded. This from a formerly strong series and authors I regularly read.

X Cellent!

The only negative thing is the ending seemed rushed. Great story and development then it just speeds to the end.
