Publisher's summary

An underrated dungeon. A determined dungeoneer. One chance for a new start.

Since the moment Rhen delved his first dungeon, he’s wanted nothing more than to own one himself. When a tiny plot pops up in the Dungeon Owner’s Guild, Rhen decides to take a leap of faith and realize his dream.

Rhen soon discovers the little dungeon has a lot more to offer than the Guild previously assessed—and that could mean big trouble. A powerful rival dungeon owner is breathing down Rhen’s neck for snatching up all the delvers in town, envious of his wild luck and the success he’s built from it.

To keep his dungeon safe and profitable, Rhen must acquire enough dungeoneers for a raid group and unlock the ultimate wealth: the Nexus node—a doorway to a new realm and a path to escape a dangerous secret. If he can’t power the Nexus node with the dungeon’s limited energy, his venture could be over before it’s even begun, his dreams of founding a realm he could call home a faded memory.

From J.D. Astra, author of Monster Haven, Bastion Academy, and Viridian Gate Online: Firebrand, comes a brand-new LitRPG adventure that delves the deepest dungeons in order to turn the steepest profit.

OK, but just barely.

The story throws new races/species at you pretty quick and while interesting the names are forgettable. The story has no real stake in this book. The villains are boring or pathetic. The title doesn't actually make any sense once you find out how dungeons sorta work, I think...no, still not really sure how dungeons actually function. Deathless Dungeoneers actually means Respawn Dungeoneers.

Magic system is actually really good idea. Tattoos that can be upgraded is awesome. MC's new best friend is the guy on the cover, he's enjoyable and a great idea. Not a Mindflayer, won't spoiler more than that.

World needs more work, it seems like everyone is basically a slave in one form or another.

Great story

This book, while not long for an audible, left me with a feeling of a longer book there is a lot packed in there.

Listened to many stories hours longer with far less story to them.

It’s a satisfying tale of a flawed mc trying to do the right thing but not always succeeding learning along the way that relationships and people are what make hard work and sacrifice worthwhile. Lots of action and combat, hard choices, secrets, and growth make this a satisfying listen. Get this book!

Outstanding!

Jess did an amazing job with this book. I can't wait to hear the next one. I was hooked from the beginning. All the characters are developed well. The story is so different from others I've listened to.

I enjoyed Rhen's journey.

I loved seeing Rhen's journey from being a random delver to Dungeon owner. His friends are great characters. Jack, Aki, and Wayland are so much fun. Aki is my new favorite cuttlefish. Wayland has the confidence that we all need to learn. Jack will either continue being his best friend or the best wife ever with all her knowledge on cooking, people and how families are supposed to be. I keep finding new reasons to read everything JD Astra writes.
