Entertaining Thriller!

Bill Brewer's thriller evokes many new emotions as you learn the story behind the Assassin. One minute you hate him for the horrible things he is doing and the next minute you are surprised at the compassion that he is capable of showing to those he cares about. This complex character makes you question the capacity for good and evil in all humans and how circumstances play into the path one chooses. If you enjoy mystery and intrigue you will thoroughly enjoy "Dawn of the Assassin.". I can't wait to read new books created by this author!

An Action-Packed Tale That's Worth Your Time

This book's greatest feat is it's pacing. The speed at which we dive through David's life is succinct and the momentum only slows when it is a good time for it. The author carries the reader to the destination of the dawn of a new assassin (aptly titled) and keeps them engaged every step of the way. His background in the medical field is used well in giving evocative descriptions of human action.

The narrator gives a decent overall performance. I think some character's are given voice performances that take away from the dramatics of the dialogue. One of these characters is rather important, and I feel the performance given hinders the impact of their words. This does not detract from the story, and the majority of the book is well narrated.

Overall, I quite enjoyed my time with "Dawn of the Assassin", and I am definitely interested in more books that may come out from the author. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh, action filled tale.

It’s ok if you’ve run out of good ones

This was painful - the read and character voices made it almost unlistenable. I stuck with it but, no kidding, the read was just awful. The story is pretty good with the exception of the “sex scenes” - they were written like I assume romance novels are. This is probably a good genesis story but Dewey, Pike, Scot, John, Kolt, Evan, James, John Dempsey, Mitch, or a number of other characters make this fella seem like an ill-prepared Sunday school teacher. I wanted to like it but the “acting” was distractingly awful. If you have read the rest, give it a shot - just set your expectations low and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Like watching a Super Bowl underdog take it to the big guys!

I loved this book! David is a guy you want to know. I found myself rooting for him in almost every situation. The action was so good and kept moving and my only slight disappointment was how quickly he adjusted to his new life. I wish he would have had more mental anguish in his journey. I wanted to see his good side fight harder against pure evil. Well now I’m hooked and waiting to see how he adjusts to the big stage . No giveaways here. Keep writing Bill! You are a gift!

An Energetic Listen

Listened to "Dawn of the Assassin" during a road trip, it proved be an action packed drive.
The story follows the Assassin David Diegert through his ordered kills and romantic conquests.
Brewer's novel translates to a fast paced audio book with Diegert moving from country to country dispensing with the bad guys, Brewer writes in great informative detail resulting in complusive listening right to the final chapter.

This is quite a gripping adventure

Packed with descriptive details, Brewer transcends his listeners into the thrilling activities David Diegert encounters as a hired assassin. Diegert possess super human abilities and yet a very human heart. I was immediately captivated by the action, conflicts, and numerous well developed characters all skillfully woven into the gripping adventures of this globe trotting man and eagerly await any sequels!

Back Stage Ticket

Bill Brewer gives us a heart-pounding and distressing back stage pass into the loathsome life of an assassin. We know they exist in real life, but Brewer invites them to Thanksgiving at your house. When the main character, David Diegert, jumps out of a plane, it's like he's on your back and you packed the chute. You will care about everything he does as he cuts across, over and through people, exotic places and complex relationships. After I finished the journey, I took a deep breath and realized that Brewer was never going to let me figure it out...just piss me off enough to demand more!! Joseph Bortle

I would idle in a parking lot to finish a chapter

Dawn of the Assassin was a compelling listen. I would find myself sitting in a parking lot with my car idle for before going into work, just to hear the end of a chapter. Brewer executes the elements of the spy genre with finesse, making any listener feel complicit in the cognitive and emotional growth and assassinations of the protagonist. For a prequel, the listener can clearly recognize the changes occurring in David as his life matures from a minimum wage worker to one of the top assassins in the world. Brewer deftly illustrates David's journey, through not only literal means, but in how his morality and ethics evolve. Grall also adds his own personal touch to the audio book with a unique range of voices that truly breath life into the characters.

An Exciting Read

Bad boy, David Diegert, takes us on an action packed, whirlwind tour of exotic locales and a clandestine criminal organization training assassins to do the bidding of rich corporate types. While initially David seems a perfect match because of his lack of conscience and ruthlessness, we do see his special ability to figure his way out of dangerous situations and witness a few glimpses of his softer side. David takes us through 34 riveting kills using his physical strength, intelligence and cunning which are frequently motivated by greed and revenge but the occasional surprisingly tender moments allow us to question his future with this employer. Will David allow himself and readers to explore his humanity and integrity in the future? I’m staying tuned.
