Publisher's summary

Investigative Services Branch (ISB) ranger Ainsley Beaumont arrives in her hometown of Natchez, Mississippi, to investigate the murder of a three-month-pregnant teenager. While she wishes the visit was under better circumstances, she never imagined that she would become the killer's next target - nor that she'd have to work alongside an old flame.

After he almost killed a child, former FBI sniper Lincoln Steele couldn't bring himself to fire a gun, which had deadly and unforeseen consequences for his best friend. Crushed beneath a load of guilt, Linc is working at Melrose Estate as an interpretive ranger. But as danger closes in on Ainsley during her murder investigation, Linc will have to find the courage to protect her. The only question is, will it be too little, too late?

Award-winning author Patricia Bradley continues her Natchez Trace Park Rangers series with a story about how good must prevail when evil just won't quit.

Very Enjoyable

I enjoyed this book very much. I didn’t want to stop listening to it. I can vision the storyline occurring in this area; Memphis through Natchez and into Mississippi. Read the first 2 books; can’t wait to read #4.

Likable characters

I liked the relationship between the two characters and why they both had confidence issues

Sloppy details.

Imagine that someone has been trying to kill you, and you use a spare key to hide out in a house, enter the house, then replace the hidden key, and make sure you lock all the doors before going to bed.

Good All Around

I love the narration. The story was good too with enough twist and turns to keep it interesting. A couple of things bothered me. 1) the hero and heroine were a little like angsty teenagers in regards to their relationship with plenty of gushing insecurities to go around. 2) the heroine had a couple of TSTL moments. Also, I thought that having Sara get killed at the end was unnecessary. Overall I enjoyed the book and would read another in the series if the author writes more.

Okay, but not my cup of tea.

This book was a decent read but brought up their faith and god a little too much for my taste. It seemed to have a lot more religious undertones than the first two books in this series. It should be marked as a Christian romantic suspense.

slow and boring

We were listening to this book on Audible. Neither my husband or I could get into the characters or the story. we even upped the reading speed but after 7 chapters called it quits.
