Likes and dislikes - missing some of the story

I started this series because I liked the Rachel Hatch, Clarissa Abbott series as well as Cassie McGraw - I LOVE the strong yet flawed female main characters LT Ryan writes - that being said I am lost in Bear & Mandy series - This book says he's adopted Mandy and they're laying low for safety reasons but ....FROM WHAT???? This is book one and it doesn't explain why? They settle in a small town and there is a bunch of things go wrong - the rest of the story flows but I have no idea how Bear ended up with Mandy as a teen daughter or why...much less why they're laying low -

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and made a long drive seem short.

Adventures and mysteries

This is a great introduction to both Bear and Mandy! I absolutely loved the story line and the continued action without being overbearing. A few twists which keep you on your toes and the ending is well written. Looking to see what other trouble these two find themselves in.

Bear & Mandy Logan

I loved the story. Loved the narration EXCEPT the voice used for women. Mandy's voice good but when changed to a woman was difficult to listen to for me.

Otherwise I really liked it. I love all boos by L. T. Ryan.

Story was good but the narration…

The man sounded like he was gritting his teeth thru the whole book. The woman had a babyish voice that didn’t change with the characters.

Poorly written

This book had a horrible plot, little to no character development, and was super cheesy throughout. Bear is supposed to be this super tough bad a** and yet gets beat up over and over... However, he is bale to get up and shake off a baseball bT to the knee and head.... Just one of multiple examples in this book of how poorly written it is.

ehhhh

1st the male narrator is TERRIBLE… almost gave up on that alone. then this is book one of the series BUT it left so much unanswered… WHAT are they keeping low from? What stuff did mandy see/survive… is Bear her real father … for book one… it didn’t explain much… hence my “ehhh”

Pretty Good

Story sort of unbelievable with a non-law enforcement person accompanying a sheriff and questioning people. Mandy is very unbelievable as a child dealing with adversity as she did. The performance was also only fair.
