Publisher's summary

Eighty percent of all businesses fail in their first five years!

When you are facing down those kind of odds, you'd better know exactly what you are doing before you take the plunge. Success lies in the system! Gerber knows that for a business to be prosperous it must function like a powerful machine. The type of business is irrelevant - a precise system of dynamic interplay between the connected parts should be in place. The well-planned system will, once started, chug along continually and predictably, transporting you to the better life of which you've only dreamed. After all, your business should make it possible for you to do whatever you wish, whenever you wish, while continuing to produce exceptional results... without you! That is your fundamental goal - dispensability! Gerber will:

  • Show you the Three Essential Components of Business Development: Innovation, Quantification, and Orchestration.
  • Teach you the important questions to ask in order to nurture an extraordinary business.
  • Reveal the five skills vital to the entrepreneur - Discrimination, Concentration, Organization, Innovation, and Communication.

Gerber's refined techniques for entrepreneurs enumerate how to successfully build a business that will soar in both booming and sagging economic markets, learn to focus on the results, not the work, and to see your business as your product. You'll also hear Gerber's 7 Steps of Business Development:

  • Development of Your Primary Aim
  • Development of Your Business Picture
  • Organizational Development
  • Management Development
  • People Development
  • Marketing Development
  • Systems Development

Like E-myth but sick of Sarah and the pie shop?

I've listened to older E-myth Revisited book many times. The story of Sarah and her pie shop is great the first time to put things in context - even if in an irritating and sappy kind of way - but when you go back for repeat listens to pull the meat back out and take notes...ugh. Sarah just sounds dumber and dumber as you try to 2x through those parts.

This is a nice, fresh recap of the whole thing in a seminar format without the fluff. Mostly what you've heard before in the earlier work but much more concise and easier to revisit the concepts. No regrets. This will be my go-to in the future rather than the pie story.

Nothing New

The information in this seminar is good. However there is nothing new. Everything he talks about is just a regurgitation of what can be found in the book The E-myth.

Exquisite Information. Beyond the norm

Over the top! When a higher standard is set, people take notice. My 35 plus years sole proprietor housekeeping business proved that as I was sought after because I set a higher standard especially to the property owners. It was not normal to do a detailed job for $5.00 a hour. But my theory was, the next lady to rent this apartment deserved it clean, spotless, and ready to move in without cleaning it again. So it cost the owner a bit more than his 3hr cleaning standard. That was my purpose to raise that standard for his property. It increased my business because of my standard. Thank you for raising the bar.

Life changing!

This program was so impressive that I listened straight through. Finally something that defines the "how" rather than just the what. I have a clear plan and structure to work with. If you are in business for yourself, you need to read or listen to this book.

Fantastic Seminar

This seminar may be a little dated but there are many great truths that are fundamental and dangerous to deny. I studied Japanese business (lean) and I stick by the real fundamentals of Toyota in my service business. It was very interesting to hear the same ideas, packaged in a way that non-lean people would buy.

This is not straight lean of course but stresses how important systems are in every business. And much more is covered.

This is a great listen that Americanized my thinking about business. I have already implemented much of the thinking in my business and have seen great results.

This is an essential listen.
