Intelligent and sensible

A great insight into the concepts of reaching new goals and changing thoughts (your own and others) by focusing on key behaviors. Actionable techniques are presented in an engaging narration.

Since listening to this book, I have noticed how more productive my conversations have become simply by focusing on the key areas described in this book.

This book on my list of favorites.

changed my life!

I used some of the insight and skills taught in this book to influence myself to quit smoking. also really helped in the work place, family life, and relationships. be warned if these concepts are abused they can lead to trouble.

Excellent, easy actionable steps

Would you consider the audio edition of Influencer to be better than the print version?

I will certainly buy the print/kindle version as well because I think it is has some good reference material. I did like the audio version very much. It was well narrated, very easy on the ears. The content was dense at times so I had to pause or rewind 30 seconds but that's how I know a book is good, if it gives me pause and makes me think.

What about Eric Conger’s performance did you like?

Very well read. Clear, good inflection, no noticeable accent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I can't listen all in one sitting but I found myself eager to drive home and listen while in traffic.

Immediate Benefit

This book had an immediate positive effect on my ability to influence change within my organization. I've listened to it twice now and I don't expect this to be my last.

Important to book for growing leadership skills

Lots of good sound data from real Studies and excellent practical examples from personal to corporate environments. This book in my mind replaces the old “situational leadership“ training. Anyone that wants to be a solid leader with all of the people that they interact with, not just their staff, must read this book.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

It is not so much that he could have done better, but rather he has an accent that I cannot quite place and it think that distracted me a bit.

If you really want to be an agent of change without becoming weary of the process, this book provides great insight on how to get it done. You can make a difference!

There is no specific character but the examples are great! The book is well narrated.

Very good Influential book!!! I can understand better how people can easily fall under specific influence. And how it can be mastered!!

Game Changer

This book really is a road map to understanding human nature showing the road from present undesirable condition to future improvement.

Not the book for everyone

Influencer is not the book that you might think it is. If you are looking for something on how to become a change agent then this book is for you.

This book is very well researched by its Authors, they include many examples to support the concept they are talking about; Mainly how to influence change, which is broken up into different strategies and each chapter focusing on one of them. So many examples are included hence the 8 and a half hours.

The plus side of this audio book is that if you are someone who is interested in understanding people better, or you work with people, especially psychologists then this audio book is for you. Some of the stories used as examples where a certain strategy was implemented and worked were interesting to know of, some I had heard of before but not in detail.

However on the downside the book is long and can get a bit boring dragging on and on, I reached a point where I just wanted it to finish but I spend almost 1 hour going to work and 1 hour coming back so I had the time to go through the entire book. I know some of you will not be able to.

All in all the good content (especially the real world examples used) out weigh the one negative of this book, that its too long.

So if you are someone who wants to learn strategies to aid you in influencing change on an organization or community level then you will appreciate this book and what it teaches you. I have an interest in psychology so there you have it why I did not rate this book less than 4 stars.

My recommendation to who ever is thinking of getting this audio book is don't, rather buy the book and read it at your own pace.
