I have been through dozens of these how-to business books and most of them are excellent, some are not. This book is already my favorite. The level of knowledge and range of information offered in this one book could really fill several books. Very entertaining, full of ideas and tips for any entrepreneur. I will listen to this book several times and learn something new every time. AAA+++

This book is full of very useful information, but don't try to read it on your commute. There's just to may things that go past as your just listening. I need to just be at home, maybe with a pen and paper or at the computer with this book. I listen to a lot of audio books with my hour and a half commute each day and I started to listen to this one on that commute, but decided it';s best to leave this one fore a time when I can really listen.

Started off with the mention of God, and I thought I had bought another sermon disguised as a book, but it lasted only a minute and got down to business. I do not often find value in many business related books, but this for me was an exception. Added bonus, was also narrated well.
Some great ideas. Especially if you are ready to take action and start implementing. Even if you aren't, it will get you juices thinking about the possibilities.
Maybe. The material in the Audible book goes by so fast. I was encouraged when the Author said he listed resources on his website. Several busted links on that site but only a few resources and great deal of pressure to sign up for paid content. That's not what the book teaches. I like it when the added material pdf is delivered by Audible with the download. Not this time.
Not an Audible edition. Maybe a Kindle version. With the Audible edition, you would need to sit a take notes. Audible books are books on the go.
This is non fiction. I've listened to a number of Sean's narrations and his style grows on you.
Yes, but now that I've visited a number of the author's websites, I'm not sure he practices what he teaches.
Lately, I've been working with web marketing in the online real estate arena. I've learned that I don't like high pressure sales techniques there. In listening to this book, I was hearing that you build a relationship and trust with a potential customer without high pressure. The author teaches you to offer valued material for free and when you do sell something have an incredible money back offer. That's not high pressure. I like that message. As with all books, you always learn something. Sometimes it is what the author teaches and sometimes it is what you believed before you read the book. In this case, it was a little of both.
valuable marketing ideas
This is an excellent audio book, full of specific ideas that can be utilized and implemented quickly and for little or no cost. The content is current and the ideas are relevant to how to grow your business and attract new clients. I've bought numerous audio books over the years, and many are either short on details or after awhile become boring. This book kept my interest and had so many good ideas, that I went back and listened to it again. I told one of my friend's about the book, and he called me shortly after purchasing the book, full of excitement about the content and the ideas he had learned from the book.If you need more customers or want to find a low cost way to promote your services in today's competitive environment, buy this audio book and listen to it now.
This is one of the best audiobooks I've listened to. I took notes while listening which was almost impossible due to the flood of marketing tips. Good job Jim!

I found Jim's book to be helpful and inspiring. It gave me several pointers which allowed me to get started right away.
I didn't like the Americanism of this book and the 'self help' 'you can do it too' style. However, I knew to expect these things when I downloaded the book - the cover says it all - and therefore I can't really criticise.
If you can get around the Americanism then the actual content is really very solid and there are some genuinely useful nuggets of information. I have found myself going back over favourite sections, taking notes and then trying to implement the advice.
Overall, while this was not an overly enjoyable listen I can't really find fault with the quality of the content.
"Great if you want to me an email marketer!"
The start of this book raises some good ideas. However it then seems to descend into only talking about building up lists of email addresses you can sell to. The author speaks about those 'landing pages' with 'register now for our mailing list' that seem to be in complete abundance on the web.
The book is also littered with plugs for his products, websites and mailing lists. In parts I really did feel that I'd spent money on a 9 hour advert for his goods!
If you're looking to try and compete in the crowded market selling PDFs and ebooks via a mailing list, then this is the book for you! If you're working in any other industry then the core of this book probably won't satisfy you.
The author makes several points in the book about monitoring the web for comments about his products, so I'm sure he'll spot this review. Sorry Jim, you seem like a decent guy but it just wasn't for me!
"Good book but audio format is not appropriate"
This is an impressive book on low-cost marketing with great insights and great resources. However, there are two shortfalls:
1. The target audience is mainly self-employed people working from home but is overcomplicated for them and not very well adapted to small businesses. At times, it makes us believe in miracles too
2. The audio format is not adequate. Indeed, there are many references to tools & websites: an ebook would be better.
"Ideal for a small startup"
I run a small business and was looking to give it a bit of a kick start with some marketing.
In a nutshell, this book is perfect for those who want to be given a pool of free (or nearly free) ways to get their name out there. A lot of it is common sense, but of course, its only commmon sense once someone tells you.....
One problem with a lot of the audiobooks is the readers accent, but this one is absolutely fine, and easy on the ear.
"Logical simple techniques everyone can apply"
Good narration of a well laid out book containing sensible advice and genuinely free or no cost ways of growing your business online. That is to say free of third party costs. Jim makes it perfectly clear that these are not get rich quick ideas and rightly so. The models he describes are clearly founded selling information but the ideas are equally transferable and applicable to other sectors. @upfinder
"Teaching marketing to babies"
The book has some nice ideas within it but I found it painful to read due to the writing style, which after a while felt like a succession to listen to how clever this next idea is and how clever I am to have thought of it and the narrator who speaks as though talking to a group of thick children. I like books like these if nothing else as a way of taking in a load of potential ideas of which one or two might be things I'd never considered. However the problem with 101 type books is that they often have to fill them out with crud to hit the magic number on the cover and that combined with the authors self promotion and aren't I clever style really didn't work for me.
"Basic and Brilliant"
One of the best books that I've listed to in the last 12 months. It's current, honest and full of really simple but easy to implement tips. Cracking stuff!
