Publisher's summary

Why do certain products and ideas go viral? Dynamic young Wharton professor Jonah Berger draws on his research to explain the six steps that make products or ideas contagious.

Why do some products get more word of mouth than others? Why does some online content go viral? Word of mouth makes products, ideas, and behaviors catch on. It's more influential than advertising and far more effective.

Can you create word of mouth for your product or idea? According to Berger, you can. Whether you operate a neighborhood restaurant, a corporation with hundreds of employees, or are running for a local office for the first time, the steps that can help your product or idea become viral are the same.

Contagious is filled with fascinating information drawn from Berger's research. You will be surprised to learn, for example, just how little word of mouth is generated online versus elsewhere. Already praised by Dan Ariely and Dan Gilbert, and sold in nine countries, this book is a must-listen for people who want their projects and ideas to succeed.

Interesting..

Using STEPPS, the author explains how things go viral and others don't. Each letter in the acronym is broken down and there are plenty of examples to show how each of them are effective. Very informational for anyone in marketing, the arts, or just a curious reader. Check it out!

Really Contagious

fue un gran libro con muchísimos ejemplos de cómo se puede lograr hacer algo contagioso y viral y quitando un poco el paradigma que se tiene que todo se hace a través de redes sociales, volviendo las raíces del famoso voz a voz

Great!

This book is packed full of knowledge. It it presented in a way that gets the gears turning in your brain, and ignites creativity towards marketing, branding, social encounters, prestige, humility, and directing yourself towards a broader purpose. Just talking about the things in this book garners"social currency" lol. I can't recommend it enough for anyone who wants a comprehensive evaluation of advertising and even sociology. Well researched, well written, and well read... So all in all, well done!

Great book by a Wharton professor

This book is both practical and entertaining. I am a Wharton graduate and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The examples reminded of case studies we were doing in school.
