Publisher's summary

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending.

Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower.

Sweet.

Caring.

Charitable.

Quiet.

Fake.

Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants - namely, the boy from the tree house who taught her how to curse in sign language.

Who taught her how to laugh.

To live.

To love.

Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero.

Gorgeous.

Athletic.

Rugged.

Popular.

Liar.

This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.

But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore.

When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes.

Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

Broken for all other books

Love this book, the series, and the narrators.

I really enjoyed the Sinners of Saint series which is about the parents of the All Saints High series characters. So when I saw the new series, starting with Pretty Reckless I was really excited. I kept waiting for them to move forward in time and not be in high school. Reading about a bunch of high schoolers really didn’t appeal to me, but I figured it would be similar to Sinners and would jump forward to their adult lives. Well it didn’t, and by the time I realized it wasn’t going to, I was to far into the book to not finish it. By the end of that book I was happy that I finished it. When this book came out I wasn’t sure if I was going to go there again.

Well I’m so glad I did, because I absolutely loved it. Great summer listen even if you graduated high school 20 years ago. However if you have teenage children and think they are perfect angels, then you probably should steer clear. LJ Shen is very much in touch with teenagers and all their bad decisions. Let’s face it we were all that age once and probably made similar choices, good and bad.

it's a roller coaster ride but in the end awesome!

this book was a little bit of a struggle for me because it was a lot of back-and-forth it flashback me to friends with Ross and Rachel! OMG!!

But the end was incredible so moving so touching such an awesome way to pay tribute to anybody that's lost a parent at a young age, which I have! It was amazing! And again Jacob Morgan rocks with his voice!!

The best yet

This one was so good!
I actually didn’t want to read the end because I didn’t want the story to end. I wanted it to continue forever.

Ride or die

Broken Knight was F*$&ING AMAZING! Every story that has been leading up to Knight and Luna’s story has been incredible. But their journey made me laugh out loud and cry snotty tears. You easily fall in love with Knight but can also hate him a second later, his character was unforgettable. Narration was perfectly on point.

All-consuming

Ride or die, baby. Ride or die. Luna and Knight. The gorgeous football player and the mute freak. They were born to be together but then life got in the way. Misunderstandings. Lies. Friends. Others. Sometimes the only way to save yourself is to leave. Sometimes the only way to save another is to walk away. Then if you can find your way back to one another, it's forever.

This was not an easy book. It gutted me. Over and over and over. The characters weren't likable most of the time. My heart went out to Luna. Her damage I understood, her pain I could grasp. I thought her character growth was amazing. Knight was more difficult. He loved deeply but the way he set the women in his life on pedestals was not fair. He set them up to fail. St Luna. She was his best friend, the girl he loved but she was not even close to perfection. She was always going to disappoint him. I'm glad when she did that she showed her own strength and didn't succumb to his. Knight was a contrast; he was loving and loyal, he was also immature, selfish, and unreasonable. His fall was not a surprise. Dean is well, Dean. You have to accept him for who he is. He is great at times and awful at others. He failed Knight but then Knight learned his good (adoration) and bad (selfish) ways from his dad. Rosie was a sweetheart but her final plans almost knocked a star off of my review. Dixie was a stalker and her story was tragic. I hate that it seemed to have halted her life. Vaughn is Vaughn, enough said. And then there's Poppy. I do not have an ounce of sympathy for this girl. Pitiful. So, yeah, I am not a fan of most of these people, HOWEVER, they are authentic. I believed every word out of their mouths, every action they took. The drama, the angst was all-consuming. It was raw, ugly, and addictive. I have to add here that the character's banter and their inner thoughts are brilliant. I laugh, I cry, I fume. LJ Shen brings me to the edge and then throws me over. Her books, her characters make me feel. This is talent.

The narrating team, Savannah Peachwood, Jacob Morgan, C. J. Bloom, and Christian Rummel were outstanding. At no time in the book did I lose the plot because one of them just didn't fit the character or capture the moment. Instead, they enhanced the book, making the words and the characters their own. I was able to immerse myself into Luna and Kight's story completely, able to picture each scene fully thanks to their talents.

They needed more time

Todos Santos is still rolling strong. Another reviewer stated they spent more time fighting than together. I have to agree with that statement and say Dean and Rosie almost got a novella out of this book. I would have liked to see Rosie get another five years. but since she was not granted that I would like to see Dixie get a life vindication from what happened to her in her past and after she was treated wrong by family and maybe it should be with Dean. It was a good story but it seemed like there was something missing from Luna character wise and it was very surprising for Knight to wait so long. I wish the main characters would have had more love time together to give a deeper insight into the relationship outside of the back story. It would seem there are more stories to come from Todos Santos.

Couldn’t stop listening!

I really likes the first book in this series but I absolutely LOVED this second one! I literally couldn’t stop listening to it. So full of love, friendship, hope, angst, and hurt I cried some big tears. Loved this emotional roller coaster of a story!

Really Good Listen/Read

I was really surprised to listen to this books. It was so nice to come across this after reading the Sinners of Saint series. I would highly recommend for anyone who wants tisten to this book to listen to the Sinners of Saint series first, you will appreciate this book so much more if you do so. It was refreshing to see how the children grew up and what they become and also to be apart of Rosie's fight.

Beautiful love romance!

This was such a beautiful tragic love story! All the good makings of an emotional fueled storyline that actually delivered. I was either happy smiling from the touching moments or crying because they were so heartfelt. Very powerful story that did not disappoint from beginning to end.

Take Me Away

I got swept away by this book. It probably doesn’t hurt that now is a particularly good time for escapism, but I instantly liked the characters and the writing...and didn’t want to stop listening
