I Wish There Were Ten
I love Blanche even if she’s a bit nosy! Could read more than four if they existed. Kudos to the late Barbara Neely. Good narration too

What a fun listen
For a crime novel, it certainly subverts the crime genre in many ways, especially hard boiled detective fiction. A must read

Wonderful story and narration

More about sexual issues being accepted
I enjoyed the other books a lot. I love the idea of a black woman from North Carolina, my hometown, solving crimes and it is a true murder mystery.
Where this book veers off from the murder mystery is a lot of preaching about acceptance of the LGBT community…..like a lot. Like every other chapter there is a conversation where Blanche is saying, “Black folks ought to accept it” or “love is love” or “when will Black folks stop yadda yadda”.
It’s like the author got called homophobic and is over compensating.
