Combining humor, wit, poignancy and affection, these columns provide insight into the intriguing and wonderful world we live in. Whether it be writing about animals (from dogs to elephants to geese!), his powerful and moving comments about his own and other families, his trenchant comments on life's foibles and farces, or his interviews and interactions with people who are memorable and unusual in their own right, John Grogan makes us laugh, he makes us cry, he makes us think.

"Arte Johnson knows how to deliver a line or, for that matter, an entire anecdote. He's perfect as the narrator of this collection of articles....Johnson doesn't miss a beat when describing Grogan's quirky experiences....Here is a mélange of ideas, thoughts, and modern-day proverbs to engage listeners, especially commuters." Better than some. I had an issue with the narrator.
The stories he told about people he has met.
Over and over he made the same mistake. He would start the chapter with the date. For the year he would, for example, say two thousand and four instead of the correct way of two thousand four. We learned in school that the word 'and' is used to break up dollars from cents. Two thousand and four means 2000 and 4. Maybe its not a big deal but for me it was like fingernails on a chalk board.
The story of the tow-truck driver and the assistance he gave the family looking for the hospital was wonderful. It helps renew my faith in the goodness of people.
I thoroughly enjoy listening to my books; especially on long drives.
I wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't get past the narrator.
I would have expected the narration to be more animated.
"excellent , a must for relaxing before bed 😴"
really loved this perfect choice for first audio book, light hearted with moments of laughter along the way x
