Great story, accents hurt this one a little

2023 Audiobook review:

I am only gonna talk about the narration in my updated review because the story was just as good as it was when I read it last year. I thought this was going to be a tough one to be able to perform because of the various accents. I think the narrators had a lot to deal with and the accents were great at moments and then were tough for me in some scenes. So Maeve did a phenomenal job with Rosa but her accents for the guys in the chapter were not as strong, especially Tiernan's. The same would be for Alexander. He did such an amazing job with Tiernan, but he wasn't strong a lot of the time with Rosa's parts and her accent. If this had been a duet narration I would have easily given it 5 stars across the board, but because some of the accents got muffled I brought it down to a 4 stars for the narration. I still really enjoyed it, I was engaged and sucked into this world until the accent misalignments brought me out of it. They had all the right emotions and the tension and angst was done really well!

2022 Original ebook review:

Wow, I have read a lot of books by this author and this one really surprised me! In the best of ways 😊 I really loved the premise of the shared world (I love mafia romances and reverse harems even more!) and how this story had twists and turns you didn't see coming. I loved Rosa and how strong she was, I would totally want to be her one day (or have her as a trusty wing woman!). She was stubborn, fierce, but allowed some fun times in the bedroom where she wasn't in control. Out of the 3 men, I wanted to give Colin a huge hug and not let him go. His background was so tragic and he was so gruff, but total teddy bear. I loved his random snark and one-liners haha. Shay was adorable and so flirty but loyal to Rosa. I loved the shopping and house appt scenes, made me heart so happy. Nooooow for Tiernan haha. So he was the most complicated of characters (besides Rosa) and I did appreciate his arc and seeing his journey from the start of the book to the end. I think we all wanted to shake him or smack him upside his head a bunch of times, but the glimpses of his love and devotion to his wife (by arranged marriage) was incredible to see. I loved when he bought stuff to help her feel better when she was on her time of the month. AAAAAAND don't even get me started on him in the bedroom. I loved seeing his Dom come out, and those steamy scenes were fantastic and I didnt want them to end.

I did love the storyline and family aspect of the book as well. Ivy did a phenomenal job making us fall for other characters (I looooved Ma/Saoirse - she was so funny but loving, made me feel welcomed while reading with how welcoming she was with Rosa). I am glad Niall/Pa got his stick out of his you know where. I really was sucked into the family dynamic and the story with Patrick. The epilogue made me teary-eyed and so happy, I was kinda hoping there wouldn't be an epilogue so we could get more from these characters. My favorite series by Ivy is Rotten Love and this might have topped it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much she was able to include in this standalone ❤️

I really appreciated Ivy going out of her normal writing style (while still being true to herself) and giving us an even darker love story than she has done, while still keeping with her tell-tale angst and romance. I am so excited to read the other books in this shared world and so happy they are releasing every 2 weeks, so we don't have book hangovers for too long haha. I would highly recommend Binding Rose and for those who want finished series, this is a completed standalone. Each of these books are interconnected, but have their own individual stories focusing on one of the crime families and one of the daughters of the mafia world.

Captivating read

Tiernan is mine! I called it.

Absolutely love this book. I didn’t know what to expect going into it and I did not know that this was an RH so that was a nice surprise because the undeniable connection between Rosa, Shay and Colin.

There’s no denying that this book will have you weak in all the best ways. How Ivy pulled this off is beyond me, but it was amazing and a great start to the Mafia Wars Series. Even thought its apart of a series, this book can absolutely be read as a standalone but then why would you deny yourself the privilege of reading the rest? This was incredible to read. Such a believable romance and the character development and dynamic between them was amazing to see. Tiernan, the hard, dominant boss man with the filthiest mouth I have ever heard that will have you melting into a puddle. Shay the lighthearted, cocky troublemaker will have you swoon and laugh. Colin the silent loyal beast turned teddy bear will have you clutching your chest in aww. These 3 make the perfect unit for Rosa and she compliments them all perfectly with her innocent yet fiery temperament.

No shortage of twists to their story, I wished we got more but what we get is also amazing. The characters each have their down demons and hang ups, but it just makes for more enjoyable read. No one likes reading about a perfect man because they simply don’t exist. How this Relationship develops is interesting. Ill leave you to see why but it’s definitely not one that’s seen or done right in books.

I listen to the audio of this book and its amazing. The dual narration makes reading this a whole new experience. Their voices match perfectly, and I love the use of the different accents and languages also. The tone of their voices makes this an easy listen for those of us who are audiophiles. They draw you in and you simply go along for the ride. I enjoyed the males use of different tone and inflections to differentiate between characters and it made it easy to know who’s POV we were immersed in. they did a great job bringing these characters to life and doing justice to their story. I cannot wait to see what other work they have done.

If you are in the mood for a spicy, captivating whirlwind, mafia RH with plenty steam, drama and more? Then this book is for you. RH lovers, this will have you salivating! You don’t want to miss out on this.

Dark Mafia Reverse Harem Romance

This is a dark romance, mafia romance, reverse harem romance. This book is about the uniting of the Kelly Irish mafia family and the Mexican Hernandez mafia family, to end the mafia wars. The way to do that is to have Tiernan Kelly marry Rose Hernandez. Only problem is their families have been sworn enemies. Rose is NOT received well by Tiernan. Tiernan is the boss for his family but he is cold, heartless, and quite frankly a major jerk to Rose. Tiernan doesn't even want Rose in his home or life at all. Rose is a very sweet, innocent, caring, and God fearing woman. The only bright side for Rose is Tiernan's brother, Shay, who is a major flirt, and their cousin, Colin, who is very quiet and scarred. What Tiernan didn't count on was Shay and Colin falling for Rose. Tiernan never thought he would feel any thing for Rose but contempt and hate. Tiernan was alright to use Rose sexually but there were certain things he wouldn't do. Rose came up with the ultimate plan that ensnared all of the men unintentionally. Rose was smarter than Tiernan gave her credit for. The situation changes for all of them. There is a big dramatic scene close to the end. I definitely liked this novel and in the audiobook the narrators do a very go job with the accents.

Great like all the other Mafia Wars books

I loved the female narrator her voice makes you picture her well her voice is sexy. Story was good I'm glad all the books have different storyline types. worth the $

Captivating and Slow Burn Mafia Romance

Binding Rose is a thrilling, seductive, slow burn dark mafia romance. It was a captivating start to the Mafia Wars series. I could not get enough. Rosa and Tiernan’s story was full of passion, hateful intensity, angst and slow burn scorching chemistry. Add to that Colin and Shay as Rosa’s two lovers and this story just entices you even more. Rosa is sold into an arranged marriage to the Irish mob in order to fulfill a peace treaty among the six mafia families of the world. The narration by two new to me narrators was great. Alexander Neal and Maeve York were great as Tiernan and Rosa. I liked their accents but when it came to Spanish pronunciation they needed more practice. Overall, I enjoyed their storytelling and the way they kept me intrigued with all the characters emotions. I absolutely fell in love with this series and can’t wait for Iris’s story.

Binding Rose

This book is like the others in this series. The heads of the mafia come together to make a plan by selling their daughters to the other mafia heads so that they could end the war. Tiernan (still hate him even after everything) gets the daughter from the Hernandez family, Rosa). He hates her and makes it absolutely known for 80% of the book. I still hate him even after everything. He is cruel and just overall a disgusting human. He refuses to make a baby with her because he considers her an enemy (for reasons that honestly aren’t even good enough for the hatred he gives her; this man was cruel to her for 80% of the book okay!) He comes up with a proposal that she is to make a baby with Colin (his cousin) or Shay (his brother) to satisfy the terms of the treaty. Rosa counters that if she has to be with them then every time they are together he has to watch! Rosa is tough and will not back down no matter what Tiernan (the donkey; I can’t type the other word) does to her. She falls for Shay and Colin because they are sooo sweet to her. Shay is like a murderous puppy and Colin the big burly bear who is a big softy for only her. Tiernan barely has any redemption in my eyes. He gives her a few well placed words and Rosa just accepts that he loves her. After reading this, you will understand why that is just HIGHLY unbelievable.

Anyways, the book was good and I enjoyed it. Tiernan still sucks though. I listened to this through Audible and the narrators did a good job. The female narrator was Okay with the male lines. It would have been better if it was duet but I digress. Overall, I enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I read the “Forget me not Bombshell” first and that one is still my favorite.

Binding Rose

Binding Rose is the first book in the Mafia Wars series. This book is told from multiple points of view. Some of the characters are Tiernan, Iris, Alexi, Rosa, Shay, and Colin.

The cartel has come to an agreement that the ladies must be married to whoever draws their name at a meeting to keep alliances.

Rosa is set to marry Tiernan, who is from the opposite family and is told that they are savages, and are not very nice. Tiernan is marrying Rosa not because he wants a bride but to keep the peace and to keep his sister Iris safe. So he tells his brother and cousin to put up with Rosa.

Rosa starts to have feelings for Shay and Colin. However, they are still enemies in the grand scheme of things. Can Rosa survive in this world? Will Tiernan be able to keep his sister safe? Rill Rosa and the three guys get a happy ending?

I really enjoyed this book, and can't wait to see where this series takes us next.

Witty and dark

Hello Dark Mafia Men.

What a world, story and i loved that it was one of kind, funny, steamy, yet the right balance of back and forth, perfectly put together from the very first page, until it's last.

The book should come with a warning "your about to get hooked, and lose yourself in words"

I can't wait to see how the next book turn out, because the world that has been built and the storyline is so good, that i'm sure we will be overwhelment through it all.
