Publisher's summary

It's all out war. Zamina is in chaos.

The dreadful pirate Emilia has laid waste to vast swathes of the basin surrounding the Crystal Sea as she gathers an army of monsters and pirates to her banner. The elven court has fallen into chaos as competing factions vie for the throne. The Lich King's forces have marched out once more from the wastelands.

Meanwhile, all-out civil war has erupted among the humans. As if that weren't enough, an army of my own has begun to form. Buoyed by an ancient myth, they’re hailing me as their savior. I may have started out as a professor of history, but Zamina has changed me. I've become so much more.

My task isn't easy. I have to bring Emilia to heel, and reclaim the jewel before I can take on the Lich King and his dark army. But, anything is possible.

A fine conclusion to an impressive story.

OK, here I am at the end of the trilogy. I got to say I really enjoyed the “Fire Mage Chronicles.” I will admit that I was not quite sure how I felt about the first book, but it definitely picked up as the story progressed and my final take away is, if you are reading this review and have yet to buy into the trilogy, it is indeed worth your time and treasure. I am going to refrain from sharing what happens in this book as it is the final book. There is a definite surprise, in my mind, at the ending. It was not an unpleasant surprise, but it was abrupt. Then there is an epilogue, but instead of what you might normally see in an epilogue this one took an almost historical look at the legend that the characters of the series become. It is relatively short and personally I would have liked something with kids and talking about their lives together as opposed to touching on the legends. Again, that is just my personal preference, and it is not to say that this epilogue was bad. It is good and stands out as unique in comparison to the other books that I have enjoyed. Of course, I cannot end this review without mentioning the narrator. Erin Bateman is a narrator whose work I have enjoyed greatly in the past and she does not disappoint here. Finally, I just want to say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this trilogy to us the audible listeners. I look forward to many more stories from you.

A highly satisfying end to the trilogy! (NSFW)

Roland Carlsson brings a highly satisfying conclusion to the Fire Mage Chronicles series. I enjoyed this book as much as the previous two and look forward to listening to them all again. The group continues to develop tighter bonds with one another all while The Lich King and Dread Pirate Emilia wreak havoc on the lands. I look forward to my next read from Roland Carlsson. Audio Version: Erin Bateman continues to excel and her narration is excellent!

Great series finale

Sad that this series has ended. The buildup was great and the series delivered with the action til the very end. Erin Bateman is a staple in the genre and did an amazing job

Glad this is in my Library.

I have all 3 books and this is by far the best of the trilogy. Let me explain. The 1st book was good for baiting me into wanting the 2nd. The 2nd had developed characters and ,the listener, was thoroughly immersed in the story and invested in the characters. This book however, I devoured. This was a really good buildup and conclusion . Give me a few months and I'll ne listening to it again.
