Publisher's summary

Joined in a battle for survival, a broken-winged angel and a shapeshifter huntress with a bloody past form a bond that may change their world.

Alone since her father's murder, Aurora has spent years hunting his killers. Battle-weary she's ready to start over where no one knows who or what she is, she just has one last mission to complete. Everything is going to plan until she discovers the beautiful winged girl caged underground.

Her decision to rescue Evie and to help her get home safely, despite avians being infamous for selling out shapeshifters like Aurora to cutters and black-market flesh dealers, will put her on a perilous path.

As the women travel together their attraction grows but Aurora is guarding her lonely heart almost as much as her dangerous secrets and Evie is struggling to accept how important Aurora has become to her.

When their enemies conspire to kill them, they may be each other's only hope. Aurora is powerful but she's also emotionally scarred and it will be up to Evie to save her from herself and to fight for them or innocent people will die along with the guilty ones and Aurora will disappear from Evie's life forever.

Excellence all around!

This story is captivating, heartwarming, thrilling, and intriguing all in one! I absolutely loved this book and all the characters! I felt so empty when I finished it and I'm eagerly waiting for more from this talented writer!

I will not spoil this story or give anything away but if fantasy and romance are your thing, this book is for you!

This book is beyond amazing! Unique, interesting and voiced very well.

This book is fantastic! I could not stop listening to it once I started. The voice actor reading it is enthralling. One of the best books I have experienced in a very long while. I did not want it to end.

Get invested

I've had this audiobook in my library awhile, and initially it was a slow burn for me. Once things between the MC's heated up though, I constantly had my headphones in regardless of what I was doing, because I was so invested in the story.

This single book could have easily been made into a trilogy, and I assure you I would have bought each one. However I am glad it wasn't split up because I don't think I could have waited to know what would happen next between the star crossed lovers.
This was a well thought out, and well written supernatural butch/femme FF romance novel with some unique action content, and sex scenes that were not distasteful, yet had me weak in the knees.

I definitely plan on taking a break and then listening to it all over again, because I assure you, the chemistry between the main characters will have you fanning yourself, then rewinding and hitting replay.
Masterfully done author. I look forward to more.
Narration took me a minute to get into, but by the end of it I found myself just as attracted to Abby Cradens' voice, as I was to a certain winged wonder.

Wow

I want more! Emily Noon is a fantastic writer. I originally chose this because Abby Craden is the narrator(and as someone else has said in other reviews with her as the narrator...she could read the phone book and I would be captivated) and because the story intrigued me. I have never had the urge to just start a book over as soon as I finished...until now.

BEST BOOK EVER!

This book was absolutely Perfect, start to finish. I have never loved a book more than this. The relationship between the 2 women and their chemistry had me obsessed. I hope Emily returns to Nordarra some day because I need more Aurora and Evie in my life. Abby’s narration was also Flawless and captured every emotion perfectly!

Protective murder gf and protective angel gf

I think that's really all you need to know.

On top of an excellent story, Abby Craden's narration was absolute perfection. I absolutely adored her choice of voice for Aurora and Evie-- Aurora having a deep, raspy voice while Evie, of course, sounds like an angel. I had no problem with the length of this novel. In fact, I was able to finish this in two days, not wanting to stop listening.

You won't regret this one.

Let's be real. That was Wow.

Alright, so this was one hell of ride. I mean that in the best way seeing as how this audiobook had me jumping around in constant shift between tension and elation for the last several hours as I listened through the epic conclusion. Don't be fooled by the beginning. At first I was struck with the first impressions of the characters. When it began, it seemed that the characters were about to follow cliched one dimensional archetypes from the easily predicted dialogue and behavior. There seemed to be a lot of unecessary explanation in the dialogue that made it seem a bit forced to explain drives and motivations of the characters right off the get go instead of revealing them more slowly through actions and such. I had high hopes going in so I was somewhat dismayed when these two characters started off somewhat lackluster, but despite the first impressions that led me to believe that I was about to listen to something that was awfully predictable, the characters got out of the beginning events and their unique colors showed. These two were beautiful written and developed, despite that some things remained a bit predictable, it was kept interesting by the background and the causes behind the motives that were consistently being revealed throughout the entire book. This book had me randomly shouting 'wHAT?!' at intervals until almost the very end, so don't worry it will ramp back up after it seems as if things are winding down towards the late middle. It was a great listen, and I will forever wonder how in the HELL Abby Craden can do so many unique voices for so many different characters. At times I would sit and almost start laughing as I honed in on the fact that the dramatic shift of the voices was still all the same woman. Impresses the hell out of me every time.

tldr: I've never heard Abby Craden read a book that wasn't a hit, so if anything I think you can trust that.
