Publisher's summary

A week ago, the nation crumbled under a mysterious cyber-attack that crippled the power grid, took out communications, killed thousands, and forced Alex Reid and his ex to flee across a lawless country in search of their daughter.

A second wave of attacks are unleashed.

After blowing a tire on the outskirts of Denver, Alex and the survivors find themselves trapped in a ruined city overrun with autonomous killer drones. But when a chance encounter with a feisty, 13-year-old promises safe passage out of the city, they soon find themselves in danger from a secretive group who know far more about the event than they’re letting on.

Every attack has its consequences.

Still reeling from the Petaluma siege, Elisha and Garcia leave behind the city and retreat to the small northern town of Willits, California in search of safety, however, safety is far from what they discover.

As Our World Falls is book two in the Cyber Apocalypse series, a post-apocalyptic survival thriller that follows a husband and wife as they fight to stay alive after an unknown attacker destroys the country and power supply.

Great Apocalypse Novel number 2

The Cyber Apocalypse world continues. The situations that the characters are faced with grow more dangerous and still seem plausible.
Fantastic and I'm waiting for the next book to come out.

Again Kevin Pierce did an excellent job with the vocal performance.

good read

, this was a pretty decent story with a good selection of characters. I do wish he had spent a little bit more time developing the back stories on the characters so the book would be a little longer and a bit more colorful.

Entertaining common story thread.

This is the third book i have read/listened to by this author. I have not listened to book 1 in this series. This has left me a little in the dark as far as some things. For the most part, this is a new segment with a new interaction between the lead characters and the people of a church in Willis, so I found I was not to far out of sync. This story has a degree of conclusion as well as the end sets the stage for the next segment of the story (in the next book).
The storyline with the inhabitants of Willis Church is not really a new premise. Mostly, it’s a question if they will get away okay together. The drones were a new idea though.

This is the twelfth book I have listened to by this narrator ( Kevin Pierce ) and I would definitely listen to another. He embodies the ideal of an apocalyptic narrator. His character voices are all well done and distinct and not exaggerated.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or (that I recall) offensive swearing.

Solid follow up

As Our World Falls is a solid follow up to As Our World Ends, the latest post-apocalyptic series by the talented Jack Hunt. Picking up where book 1 left off, once again focusing mainly on the struggle of one family, separated by the devastating attack on America, to survive and reunite. Well paced, great action, and a really enjoyable story with some fun twists. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here. Like most of Jack Hunt's books, As Our World Falls is narrated by Kevin Pierce and as always he does an excellent job.

Complicated, But Engaging PA Story

"As Our World Falls" continues the saga of Alex Reid, his estranged wife, and foster child Ryan as they try to get back to California to reunite with their Alex and Sophia's daughter, Elisha. However complications ensue immediately. Alex and company encounter rogue drones, and a mysterious cult like group of people who at first seem to offer protection and food. However, appearances aren't what they seem. We see the beginnings of the rise of the cartel to feel the power vacuum left in the wake of the attacks. There's a lot going on, and it's hard to keep track of every single sub-plot. But if the reader just goes with the flow of the story, it's a most enjoyable listen.

Kevin Pierce elevates everything he narrates, it doesn't matter what the material. He's spot on perfection every single time at bat. Looking forward to the continued saga of the Reids, and all the other characters involved in the aftermath of PA America.

An anticipated ending

As the trilogy neared an end, I liked the gritty experiences the author offered of our protagonists. It made it slightly more believable.

Some phrases were just really repetitive; I’m a huge fan of the narrator Kevin Pierce and I can pick out when he’s saying similar phrases really easy - it makes the writing fall short for me, as if it were rushed.

Overall, I think we could have endured more heart ache at the end. I won’t say more, because I hate spoilers.

Cyber Apocalypse Book 2, Great PA novel

As Our World Falls is a great continuation from the first in the series As Our World Ends. If you haven't read the first you should definitely listen to it first. It picks up where the last book left off following Alex, Sophie, Ryan and their group as they try to get to California to meet up with their daughter Elisha. The power grid has come down and survival is now in doubt throw into the mix mysterious drones that are trying to kill you, a group that seems to offer safety but is a bit cultish, gangs and more, there is plenty to keep you entertained. The story switches between the different groups, i.e. Alex, Sophie, Ryan and gang and then to Elisha and Garcia in California and others.

The narration by Kevin Pierce is excellent as always, He is one of my favorite narrators, I think I could listen to him read a phone book and enjoy it.

If you like Post Apocalyptic books then I think you will definitely enjoy this, there are no zombies which some people love and some people hate. I can't wait to listen to the next in the series.
