Friendship to Lover perfection

Loved this story! Ileum and Adohan needed this ending. Can not wait for your next book. Hoping the legion will be back and that Elena and Raphael will have a baby surprise.

Never fan-girled so hard over fictional characters

I will freely and honestly admit that I've always been biased in Ms. Singh's favor since I stumbled across Angel's Blood and became a Guild Hunter fan from then on but this has become my favorite favorite story out of the entire series. I waited many years for Illium and Aodhan to get their own stories and the only thing I can say that disappointed me was that the story had to end. This beautifully written story shines a little more light on all the characters that we've come to know in the series and wrapped up questions lingering through out the series. This is a must read that will not disappoint but leave you wanting more.

Loved it a little bit more each time I read it

I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed the first time I read it. Perhaps I was expecting a lot more romance, passion? But this book is different from the others in the series in that it is a slow burn and the main plot has less to do with what is happening in China and more to do with what is happening in the main characters' heads.

Once I got over my initial disappointment, I listened to it again and realized how much I actually liked it.
-The backstories of adorable little Blue and Sparkle.
- The emotional tumult their minds are in the present day. The constant push and pull they struggle to understand.
- Their seemingly immature fights and insecurities: which turned out to have depths and layers and cogency.

Highly recommend multiple reads as you will likely get to see a different facet of the story you might have initially missed.

What a bright light! 😊

I was not sure if there was a way for Nalini to top herself and she did just that with this book. I love Sparkles and Bluebell so much and I really enjoyed getting a look at their history and friendship throughout the centuries. In spite of the darkness in the corner of the world where they find themselves, they fight to find the light. As always Justine did an amazing job bringing all of the characters to life. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Oh my heart!

This is by far the most beautiful love story Nalini Singh has written. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that we have known these characters for so long in the series but you can just feel the longing and the love they have for eachother in every sentence.

Good but seems almost unfinished.

I love her books but this one feels like it's missing integral pieces of the story somehow, and no I'm not talking about sex scenes. For the first time in a long list of books this one feels unfinished in a way the even the previous with obvious cliffhangers hasn't.

Slow

Some Acton and adventure. It took a long time to get to the arc of the story. Lot of angst for no reason.

What a world this is

I’ve waited many years for Blue Bells story, following this world of characters since the very beginning. Without adding any spoilers…I’m most sincerely sorry to say it did not live up to my expectations. There were many things you learn along the way, but was stagnant at many points as well. I will leave it up to others that have also fallen in love with this world to make their own judgement. Justin Eyre, as always, was phenomenal in her performance.
