Publisher's summary

A new rom-com series from Denise Grover Swank, the author of the New York Times best-selling Wedding Pact series, and A.R. Casella.

Georgie Buchanan doesn’t know the first thing about running a brewery - she doesn’t even like beer - so she’s thrown when her grandfather leaves his business to her and her three siblings. Selling Buchanan Brewery would be the prudent approach, and while Georgie is first and foremost a businesswoman, keeping it might be her best chance of connecting with her half brother, Jack. But she quickly learns that what she thought was a fixer-upper is a money pit, the employees are all eccentric to the extreme, and her inheritance comes with a shocking catch. Her one hope for success lies with River Reeves, the handsome brewmaster who learned at her grandfather’s feet...if she can avoid falling for him.

After learning his best friend and boss is selling the brewery they built together to a soulless corporation, River quits on the spot, only for Georgie Buchanan to offer him a job the very same night. Helping her turn Buchanan Brewery around is his dream job, the perfect homage to the man who taught him everything and helped give him roots. There’s one problem: His new boss is his dream woman, and she’s not the type to mix business and pleasure. Balancing a new job, a new puppy, and a growing infatuation with his boss, River knows something has to give.

If Georgie has any luck at all, she’ll be able to turn Buchanan Brewery around without losing her mind or her heart. But as River helps her weather everything from her uncle’s possessed cat to a séance, she realizes she might be wishing for the wrong kind of luck.

Great start to new series

I really enjoyed the beginning of this new series about Buchanan Brewery. The collaboration between Denise Grover Swanks and A.R. Casella is wonderful and funny. Georgie and River are perfect together. I can't wait for the rest of the series. Joy Nash is a great voice to the book.

Any Luck at All

I needed this book it was just the right amount of funny mixed with a great storyline and romance.

It really has all the things you look for in a romance book. The intimate scenes faded to black, not my norm but sometime stepping out of the norm is ok.

Georgie is a great character and I love that she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her family is intriguing and if I continue with this series I know I will be pleasantly surprised. The sister is someone I want to know more about that is for sure.

River and his crazy town had me laughing. I think his best friend might just have feelings for him and I don’t think he even knows. So we definitely need her to get her own HEA.

The puppy’s omg I about feel in love. Hops what a great name!

I loved the narration Joy is a great voice actress she really gives each character their own voice it was wonderful to experience.

Cute book

I love Denise Grover Swank and am a rabid fan of her books. With the addition of A.R. Casella this is a light fun read. There was a little too many zany scenes for me. But still a sweet story. This is definitely part of a series with more to come.

A Little Over the Top in Some Places, But a Good Read

Although I found this story to be a bit over the top and not believable in several places (layered on a little too thick — Aunt Dottie and her life-sized statue if her deceased lover of 20+ years with a large pink crystal being used as a phallic symbol, one of the main characters being thrown from a run-away donkey and landing in a bounce house full of glitter, someone being hit in the face with said main character’s skimpy panties when her luggage was hit by a car…) overall it was a cute story and I will *probably* read story number two in the series just to find out what happens with the new undertakings of the Buchanan Brewery under the new management of the Buchanan grandchildren.

My favorite characters in the book were the cat Jezebel, who terrorized not only the inhabitants of the Buchanan residence, but most of the neighborhood with her very grumpy, hissy personality (I DO love a kitty with tons of personality!💕) and Hops the puppy!

This was a light, fun summer read.

Light and enjoyable.

Firstly, the narrator did an awesome job bring this book to life. I wish DGS would've chosen her vs Shannon MacManus for the Rose series because I would've purchased all the audios for that but after hearing one, she ruined my image of the character's.

This was a good start for this series. The character's were endearing, some more than other's. it's a relatively clean book (for those that enjoy clean) a few fade to sex scenes which aren't my cup of tea as I enjoy sex scenes in my books. The story starts a bit slow and drawn out but I enjoyed the premise. I also liked that Georgie was in her 30's.

What I didn't like was the unneeded "drama/conflict" of the romance in the workplace. They had a clean slate coming in, in order to not have this be an issue, as owner's of the company yet Georgie goes out of her way to IMPLEMENT a new clause prohibiting relationships! ugh!! IMO, all the back and forth on this topic could have been omitted. The focus could have been redirected in further expounding on River's life because that wasn't really explained and only given tid bits here and there.

we shall see how the 2nd one pans out. I adore DGS and perhaps this just felt a bit off from her other books because A. R. Casella co-wrote it and I'm not familiar with her writing.
