Publisher's summary

Are you a parent who struggles to restrain your rage toward your children? A parent who wants a peaceful and happy family? Do you simply burst when you become angry with your kids? Although you try not to get irritated when there’s a lot going on, do you often explode in anger for the smallest of reasons? Do your children insult you and not listen to you?

My patience is being challenged every day, being a father of two—a teenage boy and an 11-year-old girl who’s starting to think that she knows everything. And my wife and I have different mindsets—like most other couples. It’s not easy. There are times that I can say, “That went well.” But there are also times of “I could’ve done a better job.” Well, it’s not about perfection, but of progression. Don’t wait until it’s too late, when permanent damages are done.

This book you will help you to:

  • Have a better understanding of what anger is
  • Catch yourself before you burst into anger
  • What you should do when you start to get angry
  • Get a better handle when your child is being difficult
  • Provide you with different techniques and guides to control your anger so you and your family can live in peace and harmony

No one’s perfect, and I am still a work in progress. And that’s the key— progress. I am far better now than what I used to be, and I’ve learned a lot so far during this journey. I was in denial, like, “I don’t have an anger issue! You guys just irritate me every time! You guys are the problem! Just stop making me angry!”

Does that sound like you? You can’t change overnight. It takes time and effort so start now and take the first step. Find out what works for you when it comes to controlling your anger. Put that monster in you behind and keep it in check before it destroys everything you love. That is why I strongly recommend that you scroll back up and buy this book. Thank you.

Very insightful

Anyone who is a parent knows how difficult it is to control your emotions sometimes with your children. You love them so much, but sometimes they do things that can totally set you off the rails and you say things and do things you absolutely don’t mean.

This audiobook gives some wonderful advice about what to do in those situations. Controlling your frustration and anger is sometimes difficult but this book has helped immensely!

Very practical advice to help parents deal!

I love how the author backs up his work through scripture, validating everything. I have a degree in Clinical Psych, and I was so happy to hear this refreshing presentation that is spot on! I especially love the emphasis on our mental and physical bodies being in tandem to help us reduce stress. Most parents don't get enough sleep, and the author stressed to make sure we don't react or do anything that may cause an adverse reaction if we're tired. OH MY GOODNESS! I had to check myself while I was listening. So glad I found this audiobook!

valuable insights into the nature of our emotions

Most of us have experienced being overwhelmed by our emotions at one time or another. Whether it's anger, fear, sadness, or something else, these feelings can seem to take over our lives and make it difficult to function. However, there may be a Monster in Me!
This book helps us to understand these feelings and how to deal with them healthily. The book explores the idea that we all have an "unwanted" side to ourselves that we try to hide away. This is often made up of negative emotions and attitudes that we do unconsciously. This book lets us remind by understanding this side of ourselves; we can accept and eventually overcome it. It also provides valuable advice for healthily dealing with our emotions. Ultimately, the book offers valuable insights into the nature of our feelings and how to deal with them constructively. Make me smile looking back at the time I was raising my children.

This eases my pain when my kid is disrespectful

I picked up this book mainly to learn how to deal with my son when he snaps back at me over what seems to be a small problem. Of course, as an adult I immediately want to take offense but now I let him speak his mind (up to a certain point lol) and listen carefully to his complaints. The major tip I immediately used is to have uninterrupted time to speak one on one with your kid to ask questions and THEN rationalize and explain your position instead of taking the “my house, my rules” approach that works for a short time then backfires.

P.S. I LOVE the animation in the narrators voice!

Loved it

We don't always take the time to examine how our actions affect or elicit responses from others. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and especially the fact that there are biblical references throughout! I am a stepparent, aunt, sister, wife, and friend. The suggestions made can and will help me to play a better part during conflict no matter the role I find myself in. I highly recommend reading this for parents and older children as well.

Very Helpful Book

As a child of parents who had anger issues and didn't know how to express their anger in a healthy way, I had no clue how to behave with my own kids. I got angry and my anger was so big that it scared my kids (and myself). I came across this book by accident and picked it up to listen to it. I wish I had had this book years ago. It provides useful tips and guidance for understanding the source of one's anger and how to control it. I recommend it to all parents. Everyone gets angry sometimes and it's good to know more about how to control it better.

Don't get mad! Listen to this audiobook

This book is perfect for todays stressed out parents. We all get frustrated with our kids and sometimes we just don't know why. This audiobook has excellent suggestions and ideas for coping and for cooling down before you blow your lid. This is a very practical guide and helps you determine what some of those triggers are and how to deal with them. If you find you're frustrated a lot, then purchase this audiobook. I listen to it frequently at lunch and on the way to pick up the kids from school. It helps me get into a more positive state of mind.

Better parenting is the outcome

I really enjoyed the story and insight from the author. They included examples to overcome tiredness, talking back, and spousal disagreements. I really connected to “running late” and how to keep anger at bay. So helpful. My only negative was the slow sound of the narrator, he was engaging, but too slow, so I sped it up just a touch and found it perfect. Overall great resource.
