Publisher's summary

Everly Holman is between an internship and, hopefully, finding her dream job when she finds an online listing she thinks will be perfect for her. As a relatively new sports psychologist, she's worried she won't find the right place for herself. When she applies for a job with the Los Angeles Legends, the professional women's volleyball team, she finally feels at home.

Wyatt Wicked is the number one volleyball player in the world. She could play in any professional league and had played in many during her career. When the US starts the first professional women's league, she's eager to play on her home soil and finally do the thing she loves most in her home country.

Wyatt's not one to trust psychology in sports. But when she meets Everly Holman, Wyatt not only starts trusting the woman to help improve her game, she also sees Everly as much more than the team doctor. Unfortunately for her, Everly might not be willing to risk her career over their growing feelings. As they both work to establish the fledgling league, they discover that, sometimes, falling in love is worth the possibility of losing everything.

Contains mature themes.

Loved it!

This book had everything. I most enjoyed Ev and Wyatt discussing their issues with each other. The author did a great job not using the “annoying best friends” trope to translate the dialogue. The drama was just right. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

Such a great sports romance that’s not about high school or college students

I loved every minute of this book. It really had a great story with deep emotional themes outside of romance alone, which was perfect btw, and the narration was so easy to listen to from start to finish. Chef’s kiss

We Need More Sports Romance Books

Whenever I see a lesbian, sports-themed audio book, I get it. I liked this book, but it wasn't amazing. the narration was just ok (the two main characters sounded too much alike). it was still a good listen.

Great story about volleyball and more!

As a fan of the sport, i loved this story!
Also the complexity of the major storyline and the lines that got blurred.
Family drama added to protective feelings about the main character which made me
Feel even more invested in the story.

Fantastic

This was an amazing story! It had tons of sizzling sex but not just sex it was a crazy cool sports story with the romance and intensity of the problem of story that blended and ended well. You’ll have to listen to know but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you are looking for a hot jock sports venue with hot spicy romance all wrapped up in a nice package.

Sapphic Sports Romance

Sweet sapphic romance between a professional volleyball player and a sports psychologist. Wyatt is at the top of professional women’s volleyball and excited to finally play on her home turf since the US is starting their own league. Everly is overjoyed to get offered the job of her dreams as a sports psychologist and for women’s volleyball.

They meet and the sparks fly. It’s easy to quickly become friends. It’s easy to communicate and explore an intense attraction. Can they navigate what it will mean as they are now colleagues and fraternization is frowned upon?

Well written and engaging. Kept my interest and the volleyball and environments were easy to picture. The connection between the MCs was palpable and sexy. Highly recommend if you are into sports romance!

The person who read the story was clear with everything she said. I already loved the story. Nicole Pyland is one of my favorites.

Sports Romance

I love a good sports romance and this one delivered!

Everly and Wyatt make a great team - although it didn't seem like it when they first met. However, their chemistry and playful banter make it obvious and fun throughout the story. Of course, outside influences add pressure to their relationship - personal and professional.

This was cute and emotional and fun... Nicole Pyland serves up another good one 🥁💃👐

Here is a game of love you can actually WIN!

In volleyball, you have to win by TWO points, and this is true of love, though often forgotten! What impressed me most about these characters is their ability to work together, adapt to new situations, deal with threats and have each other’s back. And, it doesn’t hurt that their chemistry is FIRE and beyond the 5 Star rating I can give here! There were many situations where one person had more power and experience than the other, yet these characters never used that to take power from one another! Instead, they worked together to lift each other up and to grow in their careers and personal lives. Be aware, I never said there was no drama but the hallmark of a great relationship is not the lack of drama but how two humans beings work through it together! You don’t have to love sports to love this book. Highly recommend!
