Publisher's summary

The UNS Women's Lacrosse team doesn't have an official policy against inter-teammate relationships, but those words might as well be carved into stone tablets in the middle of the field. After witnessing way too much drama in the past, Captain Becca Moore is intent on keeping her players' love lives out of the locker room.

Becca has no time or tolerance for any distractions from the game. Unfortunately, that's exactly what Hope Hastings has been since the day she showed up for tryouts: charismatically dorky and kissable distraction.

Hope knew she was headed straight to the danger zone from the moment she saw Becca's flame-red hair and surly captain smirk. She's spent the past two years writing off her attraction as a harmless crush, but starting a new semester fresh out of an awful relationship makes Hope realize just how far from harmless the heat between them really is.

The friendships of a tight-knit team and their shot at the title are all lying on the line, but as Hope and Becca get closer to bending rules they've sworn never to break, they realize they've put their hearts on that line too. Losing has never been an option, but winning might cost more than they're willing to pay.

Quick read, cute teammate trope, minimal Drama

This book was a quick cute read, I enjoyed all the characters and the diversity. The drama was not long and drawn out and a tad bit of spice.

So Good!

Loved this book so much i bought the audiobook to listen anytime.
The story is pretty straightforward, but the characters are beyond likeable and the chemistry left me fanning myself ever time Becca and Hope were together.
if you're looking for a light read with a good amount of spice 10/10 recommend!

University Sports Romance

Becca is the passionate captain of the UNS Women’s Lacrosse Team and is rabid about the No dating you teammates rule based on past experience. Hope is a fantastic lacrosse player and a magnet pulling Becca into her spear. A wonderful sports romcom with great friends and lots of fun. Great story and narration.

Oh so boring

First thing - kudos to the narrator. She did a good job voicing a horrendously dull book. At some times the two main characters’ voices sounded so much alike that got confused as to which one was speaking. But compared to some of the cringy narrators that are go-to’s for these lesbian romance books - she did pretty good. Even her voicing of male characters was ok. I never once felt like throwing the phone down on the floor and stomping on it like I often do when enduring a comically bad female try at a male voice.
But the story was weak. The characters were flat. The attempts to create defining characteristics for each were clumsy at best. The whole romance was too fast based on nothing substantial. The conflict was predictable and overly dramatic. “You aren’t allowed to date teammates” ok. Right. I suffered through 80% of this hot mess before I just couldn’t take it anymore and DNF’d it. I really rally didn’t care what happened to wrap it all up.
Oh but the coup de gras was the top shelf drama love statements made to resolve the conflict. YAWNFEST !
To top it all off there wasn’t even any good smut to redeem this clunker. Wish I would have spent the time doing anything else but listen to this.
