Publisher's summary

Sophia is destined to be the savior of an ancient tribe, but controlling her Fire magic at a school where dragons fly and mystery is around every corner is more complicated than she thought.

At Orenda Academy, power is absolute, and students are thrown into a dangerous competition to survive. The Elders who run the tribe are ruthless, and they see Sophia as the ultimate threat. Liam is the outcast son of a Water chief who's lost everything. He's been given a chance to restore his honor...if he helps the Elders take Sophia down. Unfortunately, she's the one person he's chosen to protect. Fire and Water aren't allowed to be together, and if anyone discovers Liam's love for Sophia, death will be imminent for them both.

To fight back against the Elders, their forbidden romance must come into the light...and ignite a rebellion within the tribe.

Great story and engaging

I did not care for Liam's voice narrator but enjoyed Sofia's voice narrator. the second set of books narrators are much worse.

Good Book

I wasn’t sure if I would like this book but I am invested in this story. I like Liam but I’m still on the fence about some of his quirks but he comes through when he is needed. Sofia needs to embrace that fire and stop being such a weakling. I’m on to the next one.

Wow!!!

One of the best series that I ended up stumbling upon. I was not sure if I would like it before I started the series. I am very picky at times. I could not put it down for a second! 😊❤️
Love it!

Fire, prophecy, academy of magic creatures so far

Really enjoyed so far two books. Yes it is like Harry Potter and a little bit more sexual. Unfortunately I would’ve recommended it to my family granddaughters so little too much for them but other than as you waiting to see what happens,

Great story

Some interesting twists and turns. I am not sure why the characters sometimes seem to forget they have magical powers until it’s almost too late sometimes it feels like. I’d like the kids to stop acting like a bunch of grade school or high school students though. Sometimes it’s a little too erratic / emotional / immature - that being said I LOVED the series and spent too many night staying up late to listen to the book. Off to find the next book

Good, but unlikable FL

I loved how wild and cool she seems, but she acts infuriatingly soft. No one I know or even heard of would ever act like this and it made me so angry at how she just takes being walked over. She’s so weak willed it makes me root for the villains, she’s so annoying and I feel bad for her but considering she’s supposed to be a fire (not literally) she should have the instinct with her from birth. Fires always have an attitude, either with emotions, actions or thoughts. They’re usually sharp, but quick to do what they need to do, always protective and helpful/loving; big personality and quick to learn and lean on their emotions almost too much. It’s natural, a fire they’re born with (not seen but felt) and they’re determination is a type of light that almost never gets extinguished. Sophia though, she gives a personality of a wet towel “why can’t I-; someone help me; I need help-; I can’t do it”plays in my head when she faces anything difficult and nearly gives up every time and needs help. She should either be a spitfire or a guiding light, but she seems like a little child who needs everything handed to her or said directly to her to make a decision as well as her mounting uncertainty until it’s too late, not asking questions or at least talking to someone. She trusts no one with no reason, I understand being cautious but not so much you keep messing up continuously bc of that. It hurts my head.

Character Development

All characters were developed beautifully, I didn’t wonder even once about a character’s back story. The storyline and world it surrounds was also beautifully created.
