Alicia Magoro is a business owner and the author of Emotional Self-Care for Black Women, Empowering Affirmations for Black Women and Empowering Affirmations for Women. Having launched herself into a successful business career despite significant struggles, she is dedicated to giving women the tools they need to become better versions of themselves. Her work is focused on self-help for Black women, aiming to help women find their strength to accomplish what they want to in life with a strong sense of self. Alicia developed this herself through watching her mother and grandmother, two strong and resilient women. When she faced challenges as an adult, she was able to draw on their strength and wisdom and turn her life around completely. As she used what she’d learned to help friends and colleagues to do the same, she developed a passion for helping others and turned to writing in order to reach more people. A firm believer in personal growth and lifelong learning, Alicia continues to grow with each new experience she has and each new book she writes. She believes that it’s always possible to be better and strive for more, and she’s passionate about helping other women to do the same. Her greatest joy in life is making a difference to someone else, and this fuels her drive to accomplish even more. Alicia was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Although she dedicates a lot of time to her business and writing, she is careful to make time for life. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and likes any excuse to bake. She particularly enjoys baking and decorating cakes, and is known for her show-stopping birthday cakes.
