The first thing every listener will want to know is whether Anne Shirley appears in these stories of Avonlea and Spencervale. She certainly does. As a matter of fact, page one starts off in this manner: "Anne Shirley was curled up on the window seat of Theodora Dix's sitting room one Saturday evening, looking dreamily afar at some fair starland beyond the hills of sunset. Anne was visiting for a fortnight of her vacation."

However, most of the people who appear in this book are new to listeners of the Anne books. There are Ludovic and Theodora, "Old Lady Lloyd" and Sylvia Gray, Felix Moore and his grandfather, Little Jocelyn and Aunty Nan, Lucinda Penhallow, old Man Shaw's Blossom, Olivia Sterling, and many, many others.

The charm of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea is to be found on every page of this gently sentimental and enjoyably humorous book.

For all the LM Montgomery books she narrates. Very easy to listen to and brings the characters to life.

Grace Conlin is an amazing narrator …

A cheerful, humorous collection of stories of a bygone time, thoroughly enjoyable. Recommend for refreshing your soul in a weary time. Good narration.

This was so much fun, I didn't think I would like this much..
this book s a collection of 12 short stories than happens in Avonlea, and they follow random people and their lives and their dreams .. some stories were happy and some were bitter-sweet but none of them was sad .. Anne appears in only two stories and she appears to be 11 years old .. so it's safe to say that you can read it after the first book
my favorite story was Quarantine at Alexander Abraham's since it's hits so much close to home and that ending made me smile a wide smile .. really recommended for a light read :D

The narrator was the worst part of the book, she was really robotic and unfeeling that I struggled a lot to get into some of the stories, but the book made up for it

Enjoyable Stories.. Poor Narration

Whenever I feel overwhelmed and too rushed, I put on L.M. Montgomery. Her writings always make the world slow down and make me appreciate life and relationships. In this fast paced world, it does a body good to just slow down and enjoy the flowers. Here is another flowers from that little island in Canada.
