**A NATIONAL BESTSELLER**

“Readers will be on the edge of their seats…. A brilliant tale of resistance, courage and ultimately hope.”
Kelly Rimmer, New York Times bestselling author of The Warsaw Orphan

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Last Bookshop in London comes a moving new novel inspired by the true history of America’s library spies of World War II.

Ava thought her job as a librarian at the Library of Congress would mean a quiet, routine existence. But an unexpected offer from the US military has brought her to Lisbon with a new mission: posing as a librarian while working undercover as a spy gathering intelligence.

Meanwhile, in occupied France, Elaine has begun an apprenticeship at a printing press run by members of the Resistance. It’s a job usually reserved for men, but in the war, those rules have been forgotten. Yet she knows that the Nazis are searching for the press and its printer in order to silence them.

As the battle in Europe rages, Ava and Elaine find themselves connecting through coded messages and discovering hope in the face of war.

“Uplifting, inspiring and suspenseful, this is one to savor!” –Natasha Lester, New York Times bestselling author of The Riviera House

“Madeline Martin is a fantastic author.
The Librarian Spy is a stunning tour de force of historical fiction.” –Karen Robards, author of The Black Swan of Paris

A brilliantly told story that grips you!

I loved it, the story was strong and real. I felt like I was part of the resistance and part of making a difference in the fight for the Jews and the French people. At every turn of a chapter you were drawn in. The Narrators performance was impeccable.

Excellent and gripping

I’ve read many more than my fair share of books, accounts, and novels on the professional, personal, and sometimes incomprehensible stories of WW2. I found this to be an intriguing, engaging, and well-researched novel. Thank you.

Awesome story

The characters were compelling and the story of their lives and hardships made me wonder how anyone had survived such horrors.
The reader did an excellent job with reading and the voices of the characters.

Well written

Well written and an honor to those who lived, died, fought, and just survived during the Nazi occupation of France.

The research is fantastic!

This is one of the most well written and honest depiction about what it took to overthrow evil and help the political and the military. The bravery of those who resisted and used truth as well as kindness to help the Jewish people is encouraging and humbling.

Wow, what a powerful book.

I love this book. The description of the places and events was so well written. The story following both characters through such different and difficult experiences. Without giving anything away, the last part of the book really got to me in a good way. Another great book by Madeline Martin!

The narration was excellent! As an audiobook junkie, Saskia is one of top narrators in my opinion. She really differentiates the various characters. Her tone throughout makes it an engaging.

5 Stars across the board!

Great story

Enjoyed hearing a little known story about the underground papers in occupied territories during WWII. A fascinating look into life in the French resistance.
